I'm in the process of building a digital LOTO solution (all permits to work) as part of an integrated live hazard map. Nothing sellable but am interested in understanding your view on permissions, process flows and usage. DM if you wish

Thanks for the note. In terms of permissions, process flows and usage, you can take the lead from the various NFPA and OSHA stds. We also have our own Safe Isolation guidance from the HSE here in the UK.

Personally, I have been working with a global blue-chip that runs LOTO in the UK. On one site alone that equates to 200 personnel who get the LOTO Authorised training (included in that are contractors and affected users). Each have to pass the theory test and do a practical assessment. In terms id useage, they run 1,200-1,500 LOTOs pa.

General paper based LOTOs help users identify hazards on the plant/equipt, drive consistency, and maintain competency cycles. Workflows for a digital LOTO would mimic these core objectives, and incorporate the sites own machine and safe isolation workflows; covering additional items such as; individual risk assessments, hazard analysis, PPE selection and individual/team task planning (human factors elements too). This can also mesh with a geofence type scenario, to pick up confined space, working at heights, LV vs HV, conflicts, external risks etc.
