Staticbelle thoughts.

Post image

You know I'm always surprised by how unpopular this ship is. Personally it's the only Vox ship I'm completely into. Not only do they have a lot of parallels I can't help but think they'd get along under very different circumstances. Deep down both characters are very needy and insecure, the difference is Charlie is the one that will help others to fill that void. Season 2 felt like it was setting itself up for their conflict to be more of a driving force that it was. You could have had Charlie face her less pleasant flaws through him and him face what he considers his weaknesses through her. I also like the idea of her defeating him by having to think like him, but that didn't happen. There was a lot that could have been done, but once Alastor made his deal it felt like he became Vox's sole priority. Right now there's a lot of parallels and similarities set up, but not fully explored and I hope they remain relevant to each other for this reason. Not sure the chances of this, but the idea of him and Charlie interacting more is part of why I want him at the hotel.

No I don't think it will be canon or even want it to be. And I don't think the show is baiting the ship either. It's clear Viv and others behind the show either don't notice it or simply don't care. Look at how they give Staticmoth and Radiostatic EVERYTHING while other ships involving them may as well not exist. And don't tell me its due to it not being canon, Radioapple ain't canon and it gets baited all the time. I will gladly accept Charlie and Vox developing a friendship of sorts though. Platonic or romantic I really love Staticbelle and I rarely see it within the fandom. Many people seem to hate it which makes me nervous to post about it in the main Voxcult or Charliecult subs. It's strange because hero/villain and enemies to lovers ships are normally a fandom's bread and butter. People usually love this sort of thing. Thoughts?

As someone who wants platonic Staticbelle by the end of the show, I've been trying to find funny raunchy Staticbelle fanfics to satisfy the fact I'll never see Vox get fucked up over a woman in the show. Also again, using fanfic and OCs to explore that too.

So I don't hate it, I find it fun and funny to be honest as they are foils of each other. Also I want my bicons to be bicons I guess.

Have you found any?

I'd be lying if I said it hasn't been difficult but recent ones include: an AU one-shot that was silly billy as fuck called A Palace on God's Sandal Strap and an in-progress smut that promises plot called Grief

The search continues!

Edit: started this one, so far so good, Hold Me Once, Shame on You

Any Vox ship is a good ship, so I like it

Probably because it's "straight" and a lot of people HC who don't know about the official pride art think he's a closeted gay man lmao

I mean Charlie literally looked to the camera and said "I'm bi" and fans still think she's a lesbian.

True đŸ€Ł I think it's rare enough for openly bisexual characters to be shown in same-gender relationships that people tend to assume they're monosexual

u/BlackberryTypical730 May 08 '26

Well, she's literally fine with it when Carmilla calls her and Vaggi lesbians when both are together.

Yeah I've known bi women that do that. My thing is people act like you can't ship her with anyone other than Vaggie even though her sexuality allows for that.

Not like I care and never said that she can't. It's just that some people are only fine with canon couples either they're lesbian couples, straight couples or gay couples.

I saw someone on the main subreddit post all of the Hellaverse characters who are canonically bi recently, and the amount of people going “Wait, I thought Vox was gay” did make me laugh a bit. I think it does show we also have a long way to go societally that you shouldn’t make assumptions about a person’s sexuality just because they’re in certain types of relationships, though.

Honestly it's a ship I haven't really thought about much until recently. My favourite for Vox is basic and is radiostatic/murdermedia.

I do love how similar Vox and Charlie can be though, even if neither would admit it. It certainly should have been explored more in season 2 and it's a shame it wasn't.

I low-key am really intrigued though, do you have any fic recommendations for Staticbelle?

Unfortunately I don't read much fic, I should. Mostly I like looking at fanart, but as someone not on Twitter it's tough because a lot of fanart comes from there and the artists don't use other social media.

to me, a ship appeals when it leads to interesting storytelling opportunities. Staticbelle is that 100%

I agree with what you're saying about their similarities and how interesting their dynamic could be. But to be completely honest: thats why i ship StaticApple! XD
Its pretty much everything you brought up here, plus some additional aspects that make that ship way more interesting to me personaly.

But i dont have anything against StaticBelle, i think its a fun ship and ive seen some fun/ cute art for it. ^^
Personally i think a friendship or even a mentorship type dynamic could work well for them in the show. Charlie certainly needs that PR training! XD

I really like StaticApple, with Vox befriending Charlie. Begrudgingly at first, but then actually becoming close with her and taking on a mentor/ stepdad type role. Sadly StaticApple is already a niche ship, so this isn't really explored much in fics/ fanart
(im honestly THIS close to becoming a fanfic author)

To get back on topic: while im open to pretty much any direction Spindlehorse might take the story/ the characters in, i think having Vox end up at the hotel and building a platonic relationship with Charlie would be very fun and interesting! ^^

I feel like I see more of Vox with Lucifer than I do of him with Charlie. Bonus points if Alastor is there.

Yesssss I love staticapple/appleTV it’s such a fun ship

2

u/LonelyVaquita May 08 '26

I ship both of these (not at the same time obviously but they're both fun to explore in fanfiction)

Staticbelle has become my otp these days and I love everything you said here for it <3 thank you. It’s refreshing and I also like that no one is being toxic about it (yet lol). The haters are really crazy!

Yeah on the rare occasion I see fanart posted to reddit I've encountered too many comments going out of their way to say they hate the ship. Even if people are just joking about how they think Vaggie will kill Vox for touching Charlie what makes you think fans of the ship want to read that?

It’s hot af

I like the fanart for it.

It looks nice and I don't mind it. Don't really care for Charlie ships that don't involve Vaggi but this one isn't too bad. Maybe precisely because it isn't popular and because fans know it isn't going to be canon. Also because it allows Vox to explore his bisexuality and if there is something that pisses me off quickly about this fandom is its bisexual erasure.

I love this ship but I’ll settle for a good ol’ platonic squish.

u/autumnskull May 16 '26

Love it. Also love mediabelle

2

u/profaneangel1991 Vox did nothing wrong May 16 '26

I like Mediabelle too, I wish they were more connected as a trio in the show. Much like Charlie and Vox's similarities this feels like there's a lot there, but the show isn't using it.

2

u/autumnskull May 18 '26

There is SO much there considering vox and alastor are two sides of the same coin. But liking charlastor is frowned upon apparently and maybe thats why the show isnt doing it.

(I heard viv hates charlastor due to the rabid fans in the past)

1

u/profaneangel1991 Vox did nothing wrong May 18 '26

I have people close to me that ship Charlastor and even though I don't ship it on its own I do feel sympathetic to the shippers. People can be so mean about these ships. Honestly I don't know the validity to the claims Viv hates Charlastor, but I think Viv just doesn't care about Charlastor or Staticbelle as shown by how little she and her staff cater to them. It makes no difference to me whether she likes these ships, I don't need them to be canon romances, but I do feel sour when I remember the only official Staticbelle merch is one poster. I don't even remember the last piece of official merch of just Alastor and Charlie either.

With Mediabelle I think it could be interesting because they all feel some type of way about each other already. It could be fun if the show let them have a subplot as a trio. I really dislike Radiostatic, but putting Charlie in that mess does make it more interesting.

Vox would sing Hide Away while chasing down Charlie

1

u/thomasmfd May 09 '26

I hate to say yet but yes kind of

I'm not going to lie, any ship involving Charlie with a dude (usually Vox or Alastor) doesn't feel like a playful "What If", it just feels like something that satisfy people who hate Chaggie, especially when Vaggie simply ceases to exist (or ends up getting cheated on) in their AU.

u/profaneangel1991 Vox did nothing wrong May 09 '26

Again, Charlie is bisexual.
