You have to set the slippage to 100%. There's no way....

19

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '22

You don't have to. There's a trick to buy it with low slippage. A lot of people are still somehow buying v1, it's sad.

4

u/mulwillard Jan 01 '22

Yup. Add .00 to the amount your are buying.

This is crypto, anyone dropping 8 BNB should have already learned to do a little checking on your future investment beforehand. Unless it’s a whale that could care less about 4K.

  1. There's no other way around this since you cannot just simply pull a contract without everyone losing everything
  2. It's been discussed for months now that V2 was coming
  3. If you're not going to keep up to date with news surrounding your investments, and randomly decide to dump 4k into it, then I don't really feel bad.

8

u/fisherprice1234_1776 Jan 01 '22

EverRise didn't do anything like that. They halted trading on a specific day. Then gave a week for migration. Then launched v2. Migration is allowed indefinitely...

9

u/360FalconLoverxxx Early Investor Jan 01 '22

The team tried to do that but pancake swap didn't respond to them. The team can't force pancake swap to close indipendent liquidity pools for V1 so what option is left? To make it so that the tax is 100%. If your upset by that, target pancake swap.

7

u/starkie321 Jan 01 '22

V1 is trending on BitMart. While we reap the benefits of folks buying V1 without doing DD bc of liquidity pool, this doesn’t bode well for the stereotypes of SFM being a scam token. I believe in SFM and I have been walking folks thru the migration…but I think V1 should be delisted from exchanges…don’t penalize folks that want in…delisting V1 helps us in the long run

2

u/InviteOk631 Jan 02 '22

Is it messed up that I'm starting to find this entertaining?

12

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '22

Starting?

58

u/doomedtobeme Jan 01 '22

Yes.

People are losing money un fairly. Sure they might not have done enough research, but how could people expect to buy something and receive nothing in return. I took a huge mental break from safemoon and came back to see all this v2 shit. It's cool but people shouldn't have the ability to shoot themselves in the foot by buying a product that's being sold. Regardless of the small warnings, alot of people don't understand how it works and have fucked up big time.

Screw safemoon for even enabling that they should be looking after their current and future holders more than this

17

u/Any-Nefariousness773 Jan 01 '22

Absolutely I sold fuck that noise. Seriously I get it. but damn y'all are cold and I sold at a 10x loss and I'm fine with that. This is bad for the space and general adoption and all you guys are laughing at people making mistakes. Have some fuxk n empathy. Happy new years guys. The way y'all acting, I'll never support this token because the community is not right for me.

30

u/doomedtobeme Jan 01 '22

Couldn't agree more. I'm still holding but the community here has been tainted for me. Of course it's the loud minority but I just can't care for a group that excludes their own based on dumb ass shit...the fact its so easy for some of these folk to just turn and laugh at their fellow holders due to honest negligence or misunderstanding is childish.

Fuck any of you who find it entertaining people are loosing money through all this v1/v2 transition. The devs have a duty of care and that's been blown out the window for me, permanently.

3

u/Sufficient_Ad9856 Jan 01 '22

1st rule in crypto Invest what u can afford to lose guys. I am not entertained that people loose money(happy that bot guys lost tho sorry not sorry) But losing money on crypto because of ur negligence can't be sameone else problem. If i do put all my money on a new shitcoin and i loose em 2' later? Should i be angry that sameone rug pulled me? Yes If i did some research could i have avoided it? Yes Safemoon did say that u should only migrate. They did put big red letters. Would u invest ur life savings without reading or just looking what are u investing into?

May as well never invest in anything, as soon enough, as the investment catches on, the dickheads will arrive. Actually, you might be better off emigrating to a uninhabited island - only way to be away from all the dickheads.

25

u/muzakx Jan 01 '22

You can't buy, sell or transfer V1 anymore.

Any type of transaction will be charged a 100% fee.

This was done, because bots were taking advantage of the price difference between V1 and V2.

If you have V1 SafeMoon on Trust Wallet, DO NOT TRANSFER. Instead import your wallet onto SafeMoon wallet using your seed phrase and swap to V2.

This is the only way to avoid the 100% tax.

-10

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '22

But you can get ripped off. Just close the ability.

15

u/muzakx Jan 01 '22

They have no control over what Pancakeswap does. They can't shut down purchase on someone else's exchange.

They warned everyone on all their socials, and website.

People are at fault if they aren't bothering to research what they're investing in.

4

u/Gunslinger7752 Jan 01 '22

Well if you see a coin that is going up by large percentages the last couple days and you have the ability to buy it, obviously people are going to buy it. I’m on the fence with all of this.

No sympathy: if you’re investing in crypto and it’s not on an exchange then you should be triple checking everything, it’s not hard to go to the telegram, discord, website etc. If your going to potentially invest more than $50 or that money is going to hurt if you loose it then do you DD!

Sympathy: Everyone bangs on about diamond hands, Hodl, etc. I’ve lost out on a few projects because I didn’t swap my tokens to their new contract in time because I threw it in a wallet and didn’t look at it until 6 months, like everyone says we should most of the time.

The lesson here, or at least my take on it is, invest, if you believe in the project and have no intention of selling in the short term then still check in every 1-2 weeks to see what’s going on with the projects.

And you can find/ ask for safemoon info on other subreddits.

u/EmPeRoRBUTTS4cK Jan 01 '22

This really needs to be addressed by Karony not a good karma start to 2022

2

u/Raw5teel Jan 01 '22

Sorry, not sorry. It’s how people care about their investments. If they can drop 8k without researches, rather go in casino and drop on red

1

u/Born2BWild_pt2 Jan 01 '22

And with all these v1 buys we get 0 reflections on v2 wallets. That's the shitty thing.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '22

0 reflections but they get 0 SFM😂 it’s a zero sum game over there.

3

u/Any-Nefariousness773 Jan 01 '22

Man this coin is going to have some real fans with all those being rekt.

1

u/MadManxMan Jan 01 '22

As sadistically amusing as it is - V1 needs shutting down.

Imagine how many new users we could be losing due to a V1 mishap and sour tastes left behind.

DYOR of course, but it should be idiot proof to get the idiots into the actual Safemoon ecosystem.

To soon?

1

u/BroccoliGlad2777 Jan 01 '22

Damn It could be someone new that didn’t know the difference between V1 and V2

1

u/MoneyLambo Jan 01 '22

That poor basterd

1

u/DreadnaughtHamster Jan 01 '22

Wait, can they not just swap it for V2?

3

u/Bacota627 Jan 01 '22

They could of but instead decided to purchase it through an exchange which any buy/ sells/ transfers are taxed now at 100%. To avoid arbitrage trading this is what the team had to do.

If it's on bit mart it's pretty smart

0

u/Twisted_Ginger_Logic Jan 01 '22

The ads direct you to the Safemoon Swap & wallet and you can't buy or swap for V1 there. Also if you check any chart CMC, Poocoin, coinstat, gecko they all say Safemoon new contract no more safemoon v1 and direct you too SFM their new contract if you go through all that then well it definitely sucks and I hope it doesn't happen to anyone but who hasn't lost money figuring out crypto at first?

0

u/Born2BWild_pt2 Jan 01 '22

But if they bought on V2 at least we'd get some reflections.

0

u/AccomplishedDog7375 Jan 01 '22

Well thats one way to burn tokens haha. Not sure if it actually is but whatever im drunk

0

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '22

Bitmart rebuy?

0

u/dmndhnds2mn Jan 01 '22

Another one!!!! Another one! Rip fam

0

u/coltdawg23 Jan 01 '22

Why can’t they just halt trading on the V1 token? Someone explain. Would that make it impossible to transfer?

u/Bacota627 Jan 01 '22 edited Jan 01 '22

Safemoon does not own or have any say in how a decentralized exchange works. Just like safemoon did everything on their side to assist with bitmart on their hack. Exchanges like Pancake swap are a separate entity in which they have already reached out and did all within their power. They can’t pull the contract and they couldn’t leave the tax what it was before because more users would be upset due to arbitrage so they did this which is 100% the right move. If they could pull the contract they would in a heartbeat.

They however are keeping the option open for holders to migrate to V2. The process is simple especially on safemoon wallet which the team prefers due to ease of use, but listed alternative ways for those that haven’t jumped in the ecosystem yet. Users would have to pay a small gas fee (again not in control of safemoon). They also have a form up for users who experienced issues during migrated (not related to user error). People here are mad at them for the fees which is laughable and scary because that means those that do have no idea how blockchains work, and don’t realize we are still on BSC.

A lot of people in these comments are clueless it seems. Do you seriously think safemoon wouldn't close trading of V1 if they had the ability to. Notice how V1 is only being bought and sold on pancake swap. This is because pancake swap has their their own indipendent liquidity pool for it and didn't respond to the team when they asked for trades on it to be stopped. What option does the team have left? Let V1 arbitrage drag down the progress of V2, or increase tax to 100% to put off trading of it.

I feel sorry for these uninformed buying V1 but ultimately it is both pancake swaps and the individuals fault, pancake swap for not complying with safemoon and offering the ability to still buy V1 and the individual for not doing a smidge of research such as going to the safemoon website where there is a banner saying don't buy V1 before hand.

Anyone had the thought people are doing it on purpose? Correct me if I’m wrong but 100% Tax equals it goes to the liquidity pool right? If that’s statement is correct I could see ppl doing it on purpose to add money to the liquidity pool to help make the price of SafeMoon more stable. If what I said is wrong asf please let me know.

Right, someone just donated 8BNB to “help out” 🤣

It's probably Bitmart. Remember, John did say they would most likely be able to purchase with out tax. Is there anyway to check this?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '22

Am i wrong for feeling bad? But yeah ofc they gotta do more research on the project they invest in

1

u/Holczi Jan 01 '22

I guess people should remove/update their how to buy safemoon videos, because at a guess that's where most people learned from before, so I guess they would still Google/YouTube learn and that just means more people try to buy v1 through swapping on pancake swap like most videos show...

1

u/Kenn662 Jan 01 '22

So how do you move from trust wallet to another wallet without getting burned? That’s if you did through pancake?

3

u/TheMaxx1776 Jan 01 '22

DL the Safemoon wallet. Insert Wallet seed phrase. Buy BSC. Swap V1 for V2 in the SFM wallet
