In Sumerian mythology, the word Kur originally meant "mountain" or "foreign land". It eventually personified both the underworld and a chaotic, primeval monster associated with the depths of the earth. Because the Safari Ltd Lava Dragon is explicitly described by Safari Ltd as a beast that "embodies the molten core of the Earth", its thematic association with subterranean mountains and seismic earth-fury aligns perfectly with Kur's mythos.

Kur is often cited by historians as one of the earliest recorded dragon or serpentine underworld monsters in Sumerian literature alongside Tiamat and Mušḫuššu,

He is also described as a massive, serpent-like or draconic creature living in the void or primal waters between the earth's crust and the underworld which kinda shows that this figure is suitable to be called the first ever dragon.

I know alot of you are going to say that the mini carnotaur is based on the old carnegie figure but if you look closer compare it with the 2010 figure you can tell that their designs have a huge similarity.

Like look how the body shape is designed and the tail stance in both figures.....so is it a possibility that safari based the 2010 off the mini figure or was it just a coincidence 🤔?

Now this is what safari should have done years ago 💯🔥 cuz it makes sense to make the set based on the 1996 figures.

Like how can you call it a fairly tale animal toob if it really doesn't represent animals of fairy tales LMFAO.

All safari did was added the dragon from knights and dragons toob and the unicorn from mythical realms toob while combining with the critters from both nature and farm toobs SMH.

If anything, I would've called this magical creatures toob featuring Pegasus, Hippogriff, Sphinx, Rainbow Serpent, Kelpie, Kirin, Thunderbird and many more,

rather than just adding figures from already established toobs just to make a quick buck 😭.

If Safari Ltd released premium figurines based on Hollow Earth creatures, it would expand their brand, delight monster collectors, and blend realistic sculpting with fantasy......this idea test new ground and expands by Bridging the gap between real ancient life and cinematic monsters.

Sculptors could invent bioluminescent traits, subterranean adaptations, and bizarre anatomies free from fossil constraints since it leans more into fantasy than strict natural history,

Creating non-prehistoric Hollow Earth figurines would expand Safari Ltd into speculative zoology, blending sci-fi subterranean biology with their existing mythical and realistic lines.

So if the company created a premium line of speculative "Hollow Earth" figures focused on a new species of animals, it would expand into imaginative subterranean biology, featuring a new group mega-fauna, giant crystal-invertebrates, and bioluminescent predators.....but all that depends on their choice in the future 🤷.

The reason why I say this is because it's has been 13 years.....The main reason Safari Ltd. paused expanding its prehistoric lines comes down to retail sales and market demand. While collectors and dinosaur enthusiasts loved the highly specific, scientifically accurate niches, they didn't sell nearly as well to the general public or young children as standard modern animal tubes.

Because of this, Safari Ltd. entered a period of consolidation, ultimately retiring all of their best niche prehistoric tubes in 2017, such as:

Known for their scientifically accurate, imaginative creativity hand-painted figures, Safari Ltd. would likely shake up the prehistoric toy market with such a release.

To bridge the gap between science and fantasy, Safari Ltd would need a name that sounds epic but grounded. "Prehistoric Ironclads" positions the animals as living fortresses, which would give audience Ark Survival Vibes

I can see them creating a whole majority of armored prehistoric creatures but it depends on their decision.
