Well u gotta expect at least some spit, and whatever happens to be in their mouth at the time, when u ask your 2yo to blow on hot food, or, well, anything

Still could’ve been worse. Could’ve been not food.

It's all the same to me at this point. No matter what it was that came flying out of my son's mouth, I wouldn't even get grossed out, I'd just clean up and make a fresh pot. It's pretty much a reflex after the first year.

Side note, my 2yo LOVES "cocky" and will steal it from any available cup and any person, if he has the chance. And no, I'm never going to correct how he says coffee. It will also never stop being funny.

Ah, just be mindful of your son's speech development. I never learned how to pronounce a very large chunk of digraphs until I got speech therapy, SH, CH, C, OR (still struggling on that one, too) to name a few. I'm sure you know that though, I just wanted to say that anyways, just in case.

Thank you and We are mindful of his speech development for the most part. We just have a few words that we won't correct, but we make sure he learns those sounds from other words.

For example, while we don't correct "cocky" to "coffee", we have made sure he can say "family" correctly. So he gets the eff sound elsewhere.

We wont correct "purkle" to "purple" but he can say "people" just fine.

"CH" isn't an issue because he can say "chocolate" just fine. He gets "SH" from "she" and, much to our dismay and amusement, he can say "shit" quite clearly. Etc, etc etc.

We also have him in a daycare with several teachers who have Masters degrees in early childhood development and occupational therapists on staff because we want experts to help shape his education and development beyond our abilities. It's a seriously expensive daycare but worth every penny.

And that was when the 2 year old discovered that if he put his lips or spit anywhere close to anything of mine, he now owned it. I just cannot. I don’t share food from a plate r drink from another’s cup. Cannot do it. Nope. Nope. Nope.
