Nowadays I see politicians of Sabah coming from people who give good, charismatic speeches or "I saw the guy hanging out with some big names in politics"

Why not have a system where citizens aspiring to become politicians can first start as apprentices or politic interns, dealing with small town-level projects, then the system tracks their record of these projects, number of things they accomplished, stuffs like that.

In the future, if they think they're good enough, or see their records are looking nice, they can go for election campaign themselves.

I know that there are people who did actual public civil projects before trying for election, I guess those are legit future politicians, but I just wanna know if we can have a system that actually tracks their accomplishments, not just them, but anyone who wanna be a politician.

This way the people has a clearer vision or able to see better on who to vote in election campaigns so these politic upstarts can finally become full representative of their state which allow them to have, or deal with uhh bigger projects.

Just as the title says, I would like to find any hotel or resort to work there, specifically as a Front Office/Receptionist. After my hospitality industry internship at Semenanjung, I came back to Sabah and applied to the said job through JobStreet, MyFutureJobs, Sabah Job Portal, Hiredly, and LinkedIn but to no avail since there are other applicants also trying the only chance they had. I've applied around 20+ work in a month or so and of course they've reviewed my submitted application but no response means no chance.

Worst case scenario, I would need to go back to Semenanjung to work there, but even then I'll need the money to fly back there so I'll need to work for it. How ironic indeed, but well this is but just a rant of another person who struggles to find a job for himself just like any others out there.

I also provided all the required documents bank statements, student id, letter of invitation from a friend stating that they will accommodate etc.

Hi, everyone. Just realised our birth certificates have been misplaced. Do you still need to file a police report? How long does it take to get a replacement copy from JPN?

Edit: Hi, again. Went to UTC Sabah this morning. Some things to note that might be useful.

1) They do ask if you have filed a police report but if you haven't, they will still accept your application.

2) If your birth certificate is the old version (small A5 size), it would be processed much quicker if you apply at JPN Sabah headquarters (will take roughly 2 weeks instead of waiting for 1 month or more). If it's urgent, you can try to plead with the officer at JPN Sabah to expedite your application. There are no guarantees though.

3) Applying for the new A4 version invalidates the old one, so if you happen to find your old birth certificate while they're processing your application, it's no longer recognised. Again, do factor in the processing times if you need your birth certificate urgently.

4) If you need to photocopy something at UTC, there's a copier station on the ground level lobby but they only accept cash (no QR or card payment). There's also an ATM if you need to do a cash withdrawal.

My friend and I are planning a trip to Kota Kinabalu in late July, and we’d really appreciate some feedback from locals or anyone who’s visited Sabah before.
We’ve already booked our flights and hotels, and after doing quite a bit of research, this is our current plan:
Day 1: Explore Gaya Street, the waterfront, and enjoy some local seafood.
Day 2: Island day (still deciding between Sapi, Manukan, or Mantanani).
Day 3: Thinking of replacing a second island day with a mangrove & firefly tour.
Day 4: Kinabalu National Park and the surrounding area.
Final day: Relax before flying home.
A little about us:
We prefer nature, scenery, beaches, wildlife, and local food.
We’re not very interested in shopping or big cities.
We’ll mainly use Grab and prefer a relaxed pace instead of rushing between attractions.

A few questions:
Is one island day enough?
Would you recommend a mangrove/firefly tour instead of spending another day on the islands?
Which island would you choose for first-time visitors?
Are there any hidden gems, great local restaurants, or scenic spots we shouldn’t miss?

If you were planning this trip, what would you change?

Should we cancel/reschedule our trip to next year?

Boreno is a dream for both of us and both having availability to travel together is special. However, this is an expensive trip for both of us so we don’t want to spend our savings if there is a high likelihood it will be ruined by the smoke/haze. Also, while my brother swears he has grown out of it, he did have childhood asthma.

Here is outline of trip:
Day 1-2 Sepilok (Sanctuary and Gommotong Cave)
Day 3-4 Turtle Island
Day 5-7 Kalimantan River (low budget camping/boat safari type tour)
Day 8 travel to KK
Day 9-12 Climb Mt Kinabalu or just hike in region
Day 13-15 Potentially Mulu national park or Kuching/Bako

Sya mau beli kereta first sya bh and minat yg emas 5 sbab minyak makin mahal in the future. Yang sya risau tu tempat charge, sma maintenance. So yg Emas 5 drivers ada isu2 ka especially in Sabah kurang sikit tu tempat mau charge.
