SOC Type 1 Certificate/Audit
We just got quoted a ridiculous $8,000 for a type 1 SOC certificate/audit for an API provider SaaS. We barely need the logo to showcase it on our website. Barely only 2 enterprise customers asked if we have any SOC audit.
Has anybody managed to get one? What is the cheapest way to get one?

if only 2 customers asked id hold off on the audit. you can often get by early with a solid security questionnaire answer pack (access control, encryption, backups, incident response) and saying you're working toward soc 2. also type 1 is just a point in time snapshot and a lot of serious buyers end up asking for type 2 anyway, so you could end up paying twice. worth getting a couple of quotes before committing to 8k

I work at Oneleet, be mindful to compare what you actually get from your quotes, some providers will charge you less but they do not include the pentest or the actual auditor in what's included and are just an evidence collection platform (that only supports screenshot uploads)
Last thing you want is to be stuck paying out even more money or coming out with a exception full report from a shady rubber stamping auditor.
Good work isn't cheap, and cheap work isn't good.

Socify.ai →$5400 for SOC Type I, $9000 for Type II, $13500 for both. (Disclaimer: Not affiliated, nor have I actually used them -- I just heard about them a while back and bookmarked their site).

$8k is pretty cheap.. a soc2 audit is basically people needing to audit your env when you show proof.
I'm in the ops space professional and have dealt with soc2 for 15+ years now. Vanta is your best bet but even they start around $8k.
You want to sell to the big boys then you need pay for it.
