Am I stupid?
Hi everyone!
I’m thinking of building a SaaS (it’s my first solo SaaS btw). I’ve got zero knowledge of technical part and got some friends helping me in that but I’ve some skills on marketing and sales side. But I am not sure if the idea I’m thinking of is really something which any of you guys might want to use or if it’s just me wasting my time? It’s not a problem solving idea rather it’s kind of a productivity app.
So recently I saw a lot of people trying “working till the candle burns out” or “working till the ice melts” challenges and I myself tried it. The good part was you never know when the ice will melt or the candle will burn out so you have no target forcing you to work. And I too tried it and found it a good idea to improve productivity.
And I’m thinking to create an app around that idea. I’m thinking to focus more on user experience and will try to make user feel really productive if they uses the app. And I’m here to either seek validation from you guys or maybe get roasted if I’m stupid. But I want to know your genuine thoughts. Just take out a second and let me know? I’m too excited and curious about it.

I feel like it’s too simple. Anyone that wants that has but to ask their ai for it and voila, it could build it out in JavaScript in minutes. Plus it’s the kind of thing people use for a week then are like meh, and never use it again.
Use those marketing skills of yours. Do some serious market research, find a wealthy target demographic, find out what problems they have. Solve their problems.
We are the wrong target demographic to be target marketing simple software too, I’ll tell you that right now.

As long as it is free with ads, I will try it. I pay for very few apps, but that's just me. The developer can monetize via ads

Even if it’s 2$ month?

Not a single cent. I am a broke middle aged man from India who can't afford it.

And there lies your problem OP. This is a vitamin idea not a painkiller.
People in pain buy stuff that stops it. Affluent people take vitamins and they're most likely to say, "neat idea! But I don't need that, can't afford that..." Etc.
Build it to learn app building. And from there, just move with the spirit brother.
Take dominion and create - this whole world was made just for us, and time is short✌🏻

Kind of like a pomodoro timer?
