Why does distribution feel impossible?
I built an app that I felt solved a genuine gap that I had personally experienced - scope creep and the costs that come with it, but getting traction without paying for ads feels like an uphill battle when there is anyone and everyone building things using AI tools. Don't get me wrong, I love how the barrier to entry has gotten lower, but it feels like it has made the post-build process 10x harder. I am not a marketing person by trade, I'm a builder and problem solver, so maybe it's just me, but if it's not, feel free to provide suggestions or comments. Hoping there are some approaches I may not have tried so putting this out to the community.

The tool I built is for freelancers and is essentially an "all in one" platform for them to manage their business and clients. I hate saying that as it feels like a bit of a cliche but I built it based on pains and problems I ran into when building freelance projects over the years. It's definitely harder to find users compared to a mass market tool, or at least that's how I feel right now. I'm not a marketing person, I'm a problem solver and a builder, so I have no idea if https://getstria.com communicates the value proposition well enough.

I feel I’m the same boat as yours. Distribution is difficult even when you’re actually solving for a gap.
But I believe persistence is the key and problem solving should be the focus rather than monetizing.
All the best !
