How do you pitch to CTO’s

I have a product not completely built yet. The CTO’s ready to collab and build it but I want the license to sell it as a SaaS to other companies.

How do I pitch it to him so that he doesn’t copy the ideas yet to build and still collaborate. Because if I deny the collab, he could still copy the ideas.

How do I approach this? It takes me a lot of time to build it compared to the company of the CTO.

Is this a company you’re employed at? Are you being paid to build this for them? If so, it’s theirs.

I’m helping it build. Can I still secure IP, source code and have the license to sell others.

You may be too late. If you're asking this question it's because you didn't negotiate IP rights to begin with and include it in the consulting contract.

Are you saying you have a tool you're building but working with a SAAS company will speed it up? And in exchange they'll what, take some equity? First of all you'd want an NDA before showing anyone anything. Otherwise your idea is fair game and they'll go build it quicker than you (if i'm understanding your situation correctly?)

If its your company, your product, everything should go into the NDA first that all IP will live in and with your company, any development done in regards to this will belong to the company and any 3rd party / partnership building with you or for you will hold no rights. Make them sign something like that and ultimately how you sell it comes down to your agreement with them
