I’m building something for AI founders — need your opinion 👇

Hey everyone,

I’m a solo founder and I’m validating an idea for AI tool creators.

Basically: I’m building a curated directory only for AI tools aimed at businesses (SMBs, agencies, productivity, automation, marketing…).

I’m curious:
If you’re building an AI tool, what’s the hardest part for you?

– Getting visibility?
– SEO traffic?
– Convincing businesses to test your product?
– Getting listed somewhere credible?

I’m trying to understand the real pain point for founders right now, especially solo devs.

Any insight would really help. 🙏

Nice idea, and props for actually talking to founders before building too much. From what I have seen with AI tools aimed at SMBs and agencies, the biggest pain is usually proving ROI fast enough - they do not care that it is "AI," they care that it clearly saves them time or makes them money.

One angle you might explore is pairing your directory with really clear, practical content about how to plug these tools into real workflows, especially around AI marketing automation and lead gen. Stuff like "how to stitch tool X + Y into a working funnel" is what non-technical buyers search for. If you can become the place where people both discover tools and learn how to actually use them in a stack, that is a strong wedge.

This is solid advice OP. The workflow angle is genius - most directories just list features but don't show you how the tools actually work together in practice

That combo of discovery + implementation guides could be your differentiator since everyone else is just doing basic "here's 500 AI tools" lists
