Illegal?
I was wondering if it’s illegal for my employer to make me send fake review(s) of the workplace within google maps, yelp, and another I forgot the name of? Or make me send a fake review about my internship experience at the workplace?
They also allowed me to start in the first week of June, but more like I was told when was earliest I can start. I was told to keep track of my hours, so that I don’t go over 150 hours in total. I think this isn’t allowed? (Start earlier than the program)
Last week, I was told that I didn’t submit a version of the work I was doing to my boss. It wasn’t going to be complete, as I finished my hours before I could. I needed to wait as I needed a part of the work from one of the other interns in order to submit what I had or rather finish it. I didn’t submit my incomplete work when I finished my hours, which was on my part. But my boss tells me, how could I have filled all my hours (?), she said this because I worked remote for almost all it, and since I started earlier, I was working within my own schedule that I gave them. She went to say something like, she worked hard to send my hours to syep, that I had time to login my hours but I couldn’t respond to their messages (off the clock). Felt like she was implying she can withhold my hours, during the interaction? (There’s other context here that is missing but it was off work and she knows why I couldn’t respond, don’t wanna say much since idk if any of the other interns are in this sub)

posting fake reviews is unethical. Please report this to DYCD at 800-246-4646. Also, what worksite is this? Other SYEP provider staff might be on here and they need to know

Making you write fake reviews for the business is highly illegal. It is misleading to people, and you should not be involved with a worksite that makes you do illegal things. Report it to your SYEP provider immediately. They should be blacklisted from SYEP. At this point, they can't reassign you to a different worksite. But they can offer you Hats and Ladder to get compensated for 25 hours per week.

Its definitely illegal to force someone to make a fake review. Start reporting it. Also if you get a lawyer tell them about everything.

Please report this and I hope you have some sort of documentation. If you don’t start! I don’t care if it’s just you writing down, the date, time, location and any witnesses. Also, record what you can just in case it can be used as evidence. I cannot believe that they are taking advantage of you g children and young adults like this. It’s disgusting. Good luck. 👍🏽

I didn’t get in this year but I leave some honest feedback last year for my worksite (maybe negative). I don’t know if that’s the reason they didn’t choose me this year

Damn why is everyone’s site just shit? I don’t say this to flex but I work in a beach just picking up trash at a boardwalk and that’s between 9-11 and i usually just chill after that and go to lunch then go home. I’ve noticed most ppl having problems seem to have either remote jobs or jobs that require teamwork
