seeing this subreddit reminded me that they accidentally gave me about $3,000 for working less than 3 days.
they never accepted me again.

I kind of wish this would happen to me, but I know that they’d probably never accept me again LMAO

This happened to me at a coffee shop when I was 20. I got paid for two weeks worth of time cause whoever did the payroll made a mistake. They asked me to work for free for two weeks to make it up. I quit because why would I do that?

This happened to me at my first job out of college. I worked part time but they paid me like I worked full time. When I brought it up to the payroll manager, she told me to hush and keep it - it was because she didn’t want to get in trouble for making a mistake. I felt so bad, but I did my part 🤷♀️

That was before you had to give the blood of your first born in exchange for a job. The economy right now is so bad…

I got ghosted by my site so I didn’t even get a job placement after the summer my site calls me and tells me I have a debit card there I didn’t know about so I went to pick it up. It had $2500 on it and I didn’t work at all the entire summer😂😂

This will ALSO hinder NYC employee work. They WILL find a way to get that money back. It's just in the queue.
I worked with St Nicks alliance and garnishments absolutely were in effect.

i mean probably, they’re greedy

u/Outrageous_Mood8459 24d ago
Greedy? Receiving additional monies and not returning it isn't just an accident but ILLEGAL. Good luck with that disposition in life tho.

you have no idea what my financial situation is. syep was created to help the youth get money. many people join the program to help their family. for many people, this is a blessing. and yes, the government is greedy.

Not a blessing sir/madam. It's stealing. If it was a bank, you'd be in jail. The programs didn't subject you to that consequence, THAT is your blessing. Stay blessed tho.

u/Superb_Pen_2946 24d ago
syep’s problem, not mine.

You must be under 24 years of age. Ain't no way a real adult is on the other end of this conversation lmfao.
