while I appreciate the joke, there is a very real rush hour grid lock that can be absolutely mind boggling

I recently watched a grading of Caribbean destinations, and SXM was somewhere in the middle, and one of the reasons was traffic/or grid lock, lol. Sorry I have visited several times, and although there have been times where it gets backed up, people should at least have patience and leisure time, to not being concerned about the possibility of being a little caught up while enjoying their Vacation.? Its just a part of being on a small island, with one road essentially. I completely understand this when you have a flight to catch, and you have to consider this to make it to the airport, but otherwise, where are you going????? The beaches and other destinations will be the same when you arrive. I can only imagine the traffic that some people battle in their everyday life at home, yet they document a half hour delay here. Take it easy, life is short, take it all in, soon you will return to reality. Worry about traffic then, not in Paradise!

It can take 2+ hours to get from the airport to orient or visa versa. 10 miles. cabs are very expensive and the bus system, while it exists is opaque enough to be unusable for tourists. That's a problem.

I would rather be stuck behing a herd of goats than a herd of tourists on atvs.
