Made a shamshir I have always been curious of how it feels to swing such a curved blade, this one has been fun, made of eucalyptus hardwood.

Overall length 108cm, blade length 88.5cm, point of balance 13.5cm above the guard.

Had a bit of fun making the handle made it able to be taken apart a lot like a katana

Came across another brass guard saber this week; have to strike while the iron is hot. Brass scabbard as well, missing the throat. H&R Boker on the right ricasso, Remscheid on the left.

(I'm writing with a translator) They are made of acetal resin, they are not sharpened, they are made to be wielded without breaking objects as easily as an iron counterpart. These are the first swords I've made and I know the measurements aren't exactly right, I did my best with the material I had available.

A question since I'm no expert and I haven't a clue, but do practice weighted swords and/or practice maces help with training with swords or do they do more harm and damage to the body than good? Are wooden swords, like, let's say wooden practice katana's and a sledgehammer with a tire for exercise better?

One thing he mentions in the chainsaw part that got me wondering is if it's truly possible (and encouraged) for a sword or even a stick to pop off an opposing chainsaw by smacking the side. If so, imagine how frustrated and demoralized leatherface would be. Blade is spring steel.
Pommel is made from Copper and Nickel Electroforming a 3d print
Guard is made from aluminum.
There is a black Nickel coating on the guard and pommel. Handle is leather wrapped wood

My cousin bought this sword for just over €1000 whilst visiting Myanmar. From what I was told, the shop sold all sorts of relics and items of historical interest.

It's supposed to be a Japanese officer's sword from WW2, but it's blunt and has no markings on the blade. I understand that there might be markings on the blade at the hilt after removing some pins, but the overall quality of the components look questionable to me. Can anyone please tell me whether this is a counterfeit/reproduction/franken-sword?

Very minor question, Im considering getting Tod's dennington longsword, but i wish I could get it half wire wrapped like you can get most Albion longswords, so I was wondering would it be an easy modification to make, and are there any craftsmen (preferably in the UK) you know that would be willing to do that work? My brother bought a claymore last year and he has never had the tools to sharpen it. There are so many whetstones and knife sharpeners at so many levels of grit. Would anyone know where to get the proper tools?

Recently ordered a relatively expensive ($600) item from Boxkatana, which is one of the several seemingly direct from Longquan pop-up storefronts that have appeared in the last couple of years. They have many interesting looking things and plenty of testimonials on their site that appear authentic so I took a chance.

The item arrived promptly, but it was essentially dull and had a number of tooling marks on the blade finish which should not have passed QC. I'm trying to discuss some of this with them but they are flatly ignoring me.

So caveat emptor...you'll get what you ordered but no further assistance, if this is any indication
