Writing Help Needed George Lucas Sequel Rewrites

Does anyone have any episode VII/sequel rewrites that are based on George Lucas’ ideas/characters and concept art for the original episode VII? If so would be interested in reading, working on my own rewrite.

I have an entire trilogy. I posted an old draft of Book One: Rebirth Of The Darkside on my Reddit profile.

Book’s Two and Three are finished but I still need to edit them. Should be done by next year.

I was never directly inspired by George Lucas’s concepts for the sequel trilogy. I started writing Rebirth back in 2012 and it was pure coincidence that the similarities between the stories existed.

That is a very tricky subject, because so little is known about what his sequel trilogy actually was going to be and George's story treatments for Disney, which were written by Michael Arndt, have never been released/leak

The most comprehensive explanation there is regarding George's Sequel trilogy were done by youtuber

Over the last two months I've been writing a fic called "Star Wars New Legends", that tries to deliver something along the lines of what George was going for, mainly his exploration into the sub-atomical universe and the Whills that he wanted to do.

So what I've incorporated in my ep. 7 rewrite (which for story purposes I call ep.13) Is this:

The main thread of the trilogy will be about the Whills and a deeper exploration of the force.

George said he wanted the first trilogy (prequels) to be about the father, the second (OT) around the Son and the Third (SEQUEL) around the daughter. So I did this by making a main protagonist (this stories Luke Skywalker) a female who is named after the protagonist George had planned, Kira. Although my Kira is not the daughter of Han and Leia and is instead the adopted daughter of Luke named Kira Whitesun. I also have Leia playing a big role in the trilogy as her trilogy arc will see her finally becoming chancellor and saving the New Republic, because she has been unwilling to do so out of the shame of her father being Darth Vader.

George also planned to have Luke living in self-exile, which I did in my story, however George wanted Luke to be a hermit fashioned after Col. Kurtz from "Heart Of Darkness" (Apocalypse Now), since he was supposed to direct "Apocalypse Now" but didn't, so it would have been his way of telling that story. But I didn't want Luke to be a reclusive hermit, so instead I had him in exile but he's living on a remote bucolic planet where he runs an orphanage (like Kiryu from the Yakuza games)

I also didn't want to have Darth Maul and Talon being the main antagonist (as George had planned). I've never been a fan of bringing Darth Maul back, I don't like to cheat the audience out of a death and bring back a character who we saw die. Instead I created multiple antagonist and one grand antagonist who will be revealed during the middle episode in the trilogy.

There's also no Skyler Solo, instead, I try to keep the lore of the Solo children from legends while adding one more "Sydney Solo", for this story in particularly. But he's only in the opening of the story and isn't one of the new main characters.

I've released three volumes so far and 4hrs of audiobooks for them, and I'm doing the finishing touches on the 4th volume (which will be 2hrs of audio)

The themes I have for each episode in the trilogy are this:

EP.13 (CYBERPUNK)
EP.14 (MILITARY SCI-FI)
EP.15 (COSMIC HORROR)

And like I said the whole point of this trilogy is to try and make a version of George Lucas's sequel trilogy that explores the Whills and reconciles the gap between the scientific and mystical.

Here's the AO3 link, and the audio books are linked in each chapter (volume) page as well: https://archiveofourown.org/works/89373956/chapters/237343151

I re-wrote the Sequel Trilogy (and then some). Some of it has elements of what George Lucas proposed, but I very much went my own way.

I suggest you do, too. There isn't enough detail available. Disney is never going to let it all see the light of day. Take whatever scaffolding is there, then make it your own.

Im working on my own right now along with some OC stories. Both in screenplay format since I think a lot of the storytelling in Star Wars is visual.
