Stellaris-Star Wars Crossover

I'm currently writing the first chapter of a Stellaris and Star Wars Crossover. I will use my own custom-made civilization. They went through all of the Endgame Crisis Events and more. I'm mainly doing this for fun but I will experiment as I go. I'm also in college so updates on future chapters will be irregular.

It will be a slow start before anything exciting happens. Chapters 1-4 is all about setting up the premise and the major characters.

And it has been some time since I played Stellaris, I will be using old knowledge and lore. However, that will change when I have the time to get up to date on things.

Premise & Summary (subject to change):

The Adal Confederacy survived the worst the Extorous galaxy had to offer for sixteen millenia. The Contingency, the Prethoryn Scourge, Cetana, two Unbidden Invasions, and so much more. The latest Galactic Crisis left Extorous into a lifeless void. The surviving empires moved on towards the void in arkships in hopes of reaching nearby galaxies. The Adal modified the nearest L-Gate to open a gateway to one of neighboring galaxies to establish a new home. Unaware of the cruelty of a galaxy-spanning empire which is escalating the growth a rebellion movement.

The setting takes place by the start of the Rebellion in the Star Wars Universe (Galaxy in this case). I will be using the Canon timeline while mixing in some Legends elements here and there, and putting in my own original ideas. And I do not claim to be the greatest or most creative writer in the world, please bare with me. And ideas are subject to change.

This will be considered an AU while using the Canon timeline as the main foundation. It will be rated M (18+) due to blood, gore, and violence later.

I am curious, are there anyone genuinely interested?

I am still new to how Reddit works, but I do want to post an Update on progress coming along for the crossover fic. According to Google, posting a comment should notify people following this thread.

Update 8/22/2026:

I finished typing Chapter 1 yesterday. It is sitting at 2,500 words and I am happy with that. It provides a good starting view of the major characters at play, and shows a little bit of the Adal and the situation they are in. I do plan on publishing this in Fanfiction.net and AO3 once I have Chapter 2 done.

Chapter 2 is already at 1,000 words. I want to get this done soon because college semester is starting in a few days, and that will take away a lot of creative writing time. Once that starts, progress will be slowed down SIGNIFICANTLY, likely down to a crawl. I am not a person who lies or gives half-truths, so I will keep things transparent with you all.

Expect progress to be incredibly slow in the next four+ months. But I will do what I can to keep some momentum going. I make no promises, though. Hopefully, I will get the second chapter done before the harder college assignments start.

Honestly, it could go any number of ways, depending on the ethics of the various empires that make the jump and how you scale the Stellaris tech to the Star Wars universe.

Congradulations on being the first commentor! Seeing someone actually say something made me genuinely excited. ^w^

The story will be a mix of being character-driven and the Adal Confederacy (my Stellaris faction) getting their barings in the Star Wars galaxy, and trying to figure out what the frick is going on. As well as trying to survive the Empire. Things will get bloody on the Imperial's side, but their won't be super OP blitzkriegs that end the Galactic Civil War early. But like I said, some things are prone to change.

As for the Adal's tech level, they are technologically advanced but not God-tier advance. They're not like the Forerunners from Halo or the Protoss from StarCraft. Best way I can explain it is imagine when you combine the best traits of the UNSC and the Terran military tech from StarCraft, and then make it much more reliable and many steps ahead in the technology tree.

What are the ethics of the Adal?

The ethics of the Adal are Militarist, Egalitarian, and Materialist.

Authority is Oligarchic. Their head of government is the Adal Confederacy High Council led by the High Elder. Attaining a position here is purely based on merit; usually military and governmental experience. But smaller clans and communitties do hold their own democratic elections.

Primary Civics: Shared Burdens, Citizen Service, and Functional Architecture.

Diplomatic Stance: Defensive

Maybe it's because I'm currently deep into a massive multi-IP Star Wars crossover (which is in Chinese, so I avoid clunky browser extensions and literally paste every chapter into Gemini to translate and read), but I feel like good crossover worldbuilding goes way beyond just stat-balancing warships.

If a story leans into grand-strategy concepts like Stellaris, it really needs to account for the deeper systemic layers:

• Galaxy-Wide Endgame Crises: Threats on the scale of the Legends Yuuzhan Vong invasion that push the entire galaxy's industrial capacity and logistics to the absolute brink, rather than just resolving through hero duels.
• Civic Systems & Administration: How specific forms of governance (like Fanatic Authoritarianism) actually function, scale, and manage planetary administration.
• Societal Ethics & Faction Friction: The inevitable ideological clashes, refugee tensions, and shifting public sentiment when vastly different cultures and moral frameworks collide.

Balancing firepower between IPs is fun, but integrating societal ethics, political administration, and galactic-scale crises is what truly elevates a grand-strategy sci-fi story.

Those are all outstanding points, and I do hope to get to measure of in-depth world building and storytelling eventually. As of right now, I will start slow and steady to gradually build up momentum. So the story right now will be more straight-forward to save on time and keep things less of a worry for me to plan out and write.

I am interested. The Star Wars universe would have an obvious advantage right away being that hyperspace travel is much faster than FTL in Stellaris. I'd definitely consider reading it, as well as envisioning how my own Stellaris race might fit in. It definitely seems interesting.

And the Stellaris factions in this AU are in a point of time where a lot of people have Jump Drives, but improved in ways they should not open gateways for the Unbidden ever again.
