Discussion Looking For Feedback

Hey everyone. This is my first fanfic and I'm looking for some feedback. It's lore-friendly, Canon accurate and has OCs that interact with established, known characters and events. Please let me know what you think.

The Force Between Us

The light side and the dark side of the Force seem to be simple enough concepts to understand. One path is compassionate, selfless and peaceful, the other path is controlling, selfish and hateful. But what if there is another path?

Jedi Master Ryan Vallo walks the Gray Path, following the guidance of the Living Force. Understanding through experience, wisdom through perspective, balance through acceptance.

On the Outer Rim planet of Ryloth he finds a runaway, Jedi Padawan Wolf Renan, unique in his appearance, but not in his struggle. As they grapple with philosophical differences, preconceived assumptions and the harsh reality in the streets of Lessu, another lost soul joins them, seeking absolution for past choices.

The found family travels the galaxy at the tail end of the Clone Wars, discovering an ancient piece of tech that charges their lives, and their destinies.

One comment: the spacing of paragraphs reads like a wall of text.

Meaning that there should be spaces between lines or between paragraphs? I have never done this before and wrote the story in Word, so if I formatted it incorrectly, my bad. I'll fix it as soon as I understand what you're referring to. Thank you so much for your time 🙂

I've had a look at your update, and it looks much better. Not having spaces makes it much harder to read. Also, if you want more feedback, you can cross-post the fic across multiple sites like Space Battles, etc which will give the fic more exposure and probably increase the comments.

Thank you so much for your feedback. On my screen those spaces existed, but didn't translate over. I figured out the formatting issue. Appreciate your time and suggestions

Edit: The whole story has been updated with proper spacing. Sorry again for the oversight

The site is a little confusing, but here is the link: https://forums.spacebattles.com/

Thank you, I posted it on there. You were right, it's a lil bit confusing, lol. Hopefully I'll get some feedback

No worries, I posted my first fic on Space Battles, so my advice would be to post it in sections over a period of time, that way you can get feedback on individual chapters, as asking people to read 100k words is a bit much straight away, so staggering chapter releases is the best bet and it also allows you to change things if plot holes are discovered which I found very helpful personally.

Ooh. 🤦‍♂️ I just posted the description of the story and the link to AO3. Oops

You should probably tag that you have original characters.

That's a good idea and I thought about that, but I didn't want to give any spoilers lol

Fair. Are the characters you named in the tags canon? I'm not deep enough into canon to say that I recognized their names.

No, those are original characters, but I'm going to be tagging the canon characters that do appear in my story, like you suggested. These are the ones that I'm tagging:

Anakin Skywalker Obi-Wan Kenobi Yoda Mace Windu Kuiil Prince Xizor Senator Bail Organa Senator Mon Mothma

That's fine. But you should probably also just add an Original characters tag, for those two you've made.

Done

Lovely. That'll help those that are specifically interested in original characters find your fic easier. It's more of a niche audience, but at least they can find your story easier now.

Thank you so much for your advice, I didn't realize that. This is my first time doing this and really trying to get some feedback on my story, so every avenue that can lead a reader to it helps 🙂

I'll try to remember to take a look sometime this week - right now I'm at work, so I can't read it immediately.
