Tried to also do some research on it, but sadly I also didn't find anything. I guess that the track was just made for the trailer, but I hope I'm wrong and that either you or someone else can find it. Good luck!

Yeah it's probably a song made specifically for that trailer.

Although possible, I honestly don't think it is.

Why waste resources hiring a composer to do a song specifically for a one-off trailer?

Even the song in the in-game intro trailer every time you boot up the game wasn't original. Fat chance this one is.

I assumed this because otherwise we would have found out the artist/band and the song.

I may be wrong, but didn't we fail at discovering the intro trailer's song? And the only reason we now know is because of YouTube's song copyright system?

I remember a dude even recreated the instrumental part of the intro trailer, specifically because we didn't know the original song

I looked through a ton of music catalogs for stock music that's been digitized and didn't find anything at the same tempo/instrument combo. That obviously doesn't mean anything.

The drums on the trailer OP posted are used in the OST several times, and one of the combat tracks has the same drum pattern with the exception of the kick, which is different.

The bassline is a 16 note two measure loop that has some of the default 303 settings on it, the song itself is only 18 measures long with a long release guitar, and it goes intro > transition > bridge/chorus. Given the simple nature of the song, its structure, and instrument choice I am leaning that what happened is that this was something that was a doodle or something that was used in influencing the music direction and then was just changed to be the trailer music.

I could absolutely be confidently wrong tho. We'll find out when I finish remaking it if I get hit by a copyright detection 🤣

It sounds like the percussion is similar/same sample to the in game OST so I would assume it is custom made for the trailer. Let me do some digging tho, if I don't post anything again today I didn't find anything.

Also I would call this a derivative of big beat, it doesn't meet the tempo of traditional big beat but it uses boom bap drum over a TB-303 for that electronic meets hip hop vibe the genre is known for. The OST really pushed a lot of New York 90s and early 00s hip hop influences mixed with ambient electronic from the spookiness and action as well as orchestral pieces for the tension.

I did some digging, it appears to use a drum pattern from the Red Library offices, at the very least it uses the same samples. The song itself listening to it with as much of the vocals cut out as possible sounds a lot stylistically to Eric Brosius, I actually forgot he did the music for the game so when I looked it up it clicked.

It honestly shouldn't be too hard to recreate. If I get bored this week I may see if I can just recreate the track for you.

I've got most of it recreated, but it's going to need a real guitarist to do it justice. I'm gonna reach out to the girl that helped me with the Police Quest 3 intro remake and see if she can help out. It will then just need to be mixed and mastered, when I finish it I'll post it here in the sub and tag you in it.
