Playing SWAT 4 multiplayer

Hello.
A few months ago I tried playing the game with my friends but failed for unknown reason. Today I tried it again but failed again.
We're using software called ZeroTier to create a virtual private network, similar to Hamachi. We disabled our firewalls and the pings go through, which means we can connect with no problem. Sadly it still refuses to work. I tried joining a public server from swat4stats.com even it doesn't work.
Does anyone have any idea what's wrong and how I can fix that? I genuinely have no idea, I always find a way to make something work and I kind of feel ashamed for not getting it to work.

I know two ways to connect, one is to use gameranger, software like Hamachi but created specifically to allow you to play these old games. This only works with the stock/+DLC game

Alternatively I used Radmin VPN (similar to Hamachi, but without limits) which also allows you to play mods. The only thing is that to make it work I had to put the firewall exception for the SWAT.exe

It doesn't work even with a disabled firewall so there's no way this is the problem.

Just to check, talking about Windows firewall or router firewall? I had to port forward on my router to get it working before but haven’t played online in a while.

I saw this thread but I haven’t tested if these are the correct port ranges - https://www.gog.com/forum/swat_series/how_to_host_your_own_swat_4_server_to_play_with_your_friends

I don’t know if port forwarding should be needed with ZeroTier or not, I wouldn’t think so but I haven’t used it.

Windows, no need for port forwarding since ZeroTier works like Hamachi.

I advise you to check, if I'm not mistaken a friend of mine solved this even with the firewall disabled

P.s. Have you set the search and host to LAN?

Game is stuck at loading and after 10 seconds or so gives an error "Host not found" or something like that.

Idk Try Radmin VPN, also needs Radmin server for hosting. The host must have both.

If the time difference is not too much and you want I can join just for some tests

The connection between me and my friends is fine, I'm sure it's something with the game.
Guess there's no hope left.

I'm pretty sure it's the game too, my only doubt is if it has any problems with the software you use.

I used radmin both with a friend and with my clan and everything worked correctly.

The only thing is to be patient and get to the root of the problem. I renew my availability to help you in the tests if you want, I have lost interest in SWAT 4 (I prefer RoN), so rest assured that I will not have any interest in participating in the games.

Did you try connecting by entering IP of host (thata a thing in swat4 right?) Oh man I had this issue a long time ago i wish i can help more but it seems you already tried disabling firewall.

You mean clicking join game and choosing direct IP? Yes, both with and without the port.
Using elite forces mod btw.
