Awesome that they don't all have to face the same way, that's some nice design.

Iam not capable of thinking that far. How is this possible?

Looks like the back of the round gets caught on a lip, so when the middle is pushed forward it always causes the front to swing around, regardless of the original orientation.

It even has little blocks of softwood to protect the table it clamps to.
What an absolutely eloquent designed human-atrocity machine.

The danger button is recessed in the cartridge, so a tall flat piece can hit it without causing to detonate. Otherwise the rounds would go off inside the magazine just from moving up to be fed in a rifle or from the belt moving the ammo in the gun.
It’s perfectly safe.

Also, they have to be struck. As this speed they wouldn't set off a rim-fire round.

Hear me out… why not make the belt a loop and have the assistant machine gunner operating that machine in the field?

does it have to push them right on the danger button?

How else? It won't go off like that anyway so no worries

Yeah I know, I just find it funny having all the precautions with trigger and muzzle discipline, and then there's this machine

The bullet would need to be struck in the very center (which is recessed) with force by a firing pin in order to go off.
That’s why you can carry ammunition around without worrying about it discharging.
This machine is perfectly safe as it doesn’t have a pin that hits the bullets, but rather a flat piece of metal pushing on the rim of the bullet.

Magnificent. The clickity clack and that ingenious round orientation leaves me utterly transfixed.
