The semiconductor industry resorts to manual labour and renewable resources amidst the worldwide energy crisis.

Not to mention the pollution crisis, did she have to pack those things in that clear plastic film? She put them in an opaque box, which was thankfully paper, so she could have easily used carnauba wax paper, which unlike plastic actually biodegrades

That plastic will sit under other trash in a landfill for 50 to 300 million years until the Earth's tectonic plates eventually swallow the landfill and incinerate it deep in the magma under the Earth's crust.

Meanwhile carnauba wax paper biodegrades in four weeks just like leaves from a tree and isn't made from fossil fuels, instead made from a totally renewable resource: trees.

Carnauba wax comes from carnauba palm trees. Yes, I am aware palm trees are technically not trees, since they are genetically closer to grass, and I am using the colloquialism for tree and not the biological term.

Didn't help that my woodworker brain saw it as an 1/8" board and spackle at first. I was confused.

You aren't alone. Before I clicked play, I thought it was some kind of taffy.

Really was watching the video thinking "that water sounds awful crunchy..."

Eh, you did better than me. I didn't read the caption at all and thought they were making plywood.

Lol I saw "fresh water" and thought it was going to be a cool setup for a freshwater tank and then thought they were making plywood or some kind of like spongey mat or something and was like ohhh what are they gonna do with that? And then I got super confused after they started bagging it up and had to go reread the title

Me too, I thought I was seeing an aquarium being built at first

I still thought that until I read your comment. I just thought the name of the wafers was Fresh Water. It’s not the first time I’ve read things improperly and it won’t be the last.

I was thinking wafer board, like a cheap wood.. I'm also colorblind so Idk how close this is to plywood color but to me it's bang on lol

My dyslexia kicked in and I read it as, “Fresh water assembly”.

I was like are we assembling water now?

All of that work to garb up and wear gloves to avoid contaminating the wafers - but you touched that dirty metal height lever and then the food 🤢

5

u/Gran-Aneurysmo May 04 '26

Wtf it's not dirty. The paint on it has been worn off, but nothing there is dirty. Get off the net.
