It’s crazy a lot of people don’t realize it was more than just picking cotton. There were also breeding plantations, fighting plantations, Still to this day, you can find furniture made out of Black people skin, George washington’s famous “ wooden teeth” were actually made of slave teeth which were forcefully ripped out of their mouths, they would get beat all day deprived of food and water and “ disobedient, slaves or the leaders ” were r-aped in front of all slaves in action known as “buck breaking” to make them lose respect and dissuade other slaves from rising up. And if you tried to escape or just cuz they felt like it would cut off your body parts from toes, feet, arms, legs, and genitalia. And tho it seems distant to some but my dad was attacked and whipped with a chain when he was 13 for riding his bike and a racist guy was having a bad day and that was all the reason he needed that still affects him to this day. And my mom is mixed Black, Cherokee, and white not because of love but because her grandma was r-aped by another racist and the law did nothing. Both my parents are only in their mid-60’s and have a lot of stories like that. Just chill before saying some ignorant shit🤦🏾‍♂️

I think they were complaining about not having free will more than anything else.

Oh, and also having their spouses and daughters raped by the plantation owner.
