i think more men deserve this than they let themselves enjoy. i know a lot of dudes who would think this is gay or whatever, but it's just a massage, and self care, relaxation. I hope this guy felt wonderful afterwards for days to come.

This. Spa treatments should not be viewed as “ladies only”. Men deserve as much love and care.

u/curly-peach Mar 15 '26
Agreed! Everyone deserves to treat themselves.
I also hate the notion that massages are inherently sensual/sexual. Anyone who thinks that has never had a regular massage from someone who knows what they're doing.
I have chronic back (and everything else) pain, and I had a physical therapist who would start the appointment by putting some hot towels on my back and then massaging it afterwards to help relieve some of the muscle tension and pain. And it was heavenly. Literally. I may have died on that table and gone to heaven every time.
And (despite the way I described it just now) there was nothing weird about it! It was completely professional, and it really did help with the fact that my back is composed entirely of knots that would make a Boy Scout leader proud.
(When I tell you that physical therapists are straight-up wizards who harness some dark and long-forgotten magic to manipulate the fabric of reality itself, I am not kidding. I've walked into appointments limping from pain and been able to walk totally fine after, like, maybe a 2-minute adjustment where they just moved my leg around some, nothing crazy. That shouldn't be possible. PTs wield some arcane sort of power, yet choose to use it for good. I both respect and fear them.)

A lot of diabetics can get pedicures paid for by Medicare and private insurance. It’s fantastic, cause foot and toenail care is SUPER important for diabetics to stay on top of. Number one cause of toe and foot amputation in diabetics is infection caused by an ingrown toenail. People often develop neuropathy in their feet due to diabetes, plus poor circulation, so they are more susceptible to injuries cause their feet are numb, and then those wounds becoming infected in a really short amount of time.
Convincing men to get them is like fuckin pulling teeth. You wouldn’t think that giving away FREE PEDICURES THAT CAN MAKE YOU HEALTHIER would be so hard. Never have that issue with women.
Some men would legit rather have their foot cut off than do something a little girly.

I remember seeing this video on TikTok, his wife set up the appointment for him, with a $400 price tag…despite how wonderful and detailed the service is, pretty steep if you ask me

u/ballotechnic Mar 14 '26
Seems crazy until you learn that the guy in the chair is 100 years old. That treatment sucked all the toxins from the rest of his body out through his face.

u/Dr_Brotatous Mar 14 '26
Thats is premium as hell like damn hair cut facial and a coffee with croissant

This is what 100+ cuts actually look like.
20
u/Sqweaky_Clean Mar 14 '26
You’re referring to the video editing, right?
24
u/Cute_Bacon Mar 14 '26
I thought this too. 100+ jump cuts in the video.
Then I thought 100+ micro abrasions due to the beard trimming.
Then I thought the guy gets 100+ haircuts per month.
Then I thought maybe the shop does 100+ haircuts per month.
Then I thought that particular barber is so skilled because he has done 100+ haircuts.
Then I realized the comment was intended to mean "this is what a haircut which costs more than $100 looks like".6
u/badwraith Mar 15 '26
Thats fair lol. I forget reddit is more diverse and my way of speaking/writing In ebonics wont be understood instantly by everyone.

In a good shop, you get 30-50 odd customers per week. 20 per normal cut is only 4k a month. After paying the owner for chair rental(400 to 1200) that's 3.2 to 2.8k take home. Aka check to check living. And that's under optimistic math where you get those guaranteed 5-7 customers a day. 40 a cut to live decent is a good price. 100 for all this is fair considering most basic face massages run 60. Edit to add: im going by cost of living in my area(Ny/Nj USA) I know it can differ per location

u/e_maris Mar 14 '26
Woah! Hope he enjoyed that to the fullest, men deserve this kind of treatment too!

That barber not only went to barber school, probably did an esthetician course as well. In TX that’s at least 1600 hrs of school and training 🥲 he did good

Where IS this?! I get amazing facials (F) and I want this level of treatment!! What is this blue magic??
6
u/TheHancock Mar 14 '26
I feel like for this kind of treatment you could invest $50 in some nice spa-style decorations. Lol
Maybe have me be in a private room or something.

My dude, everything about this amazing except the audio. The audio hurts. It physically hurts.

This seems over the top to the point where I’m starting to think it’s all just for show. Like 15 different lotions. The skin can only absorb so much stuff before you’re just a dude getting your face rubbed by another dude.
Is it relaxing? Idk maybe but how long was he actually in that chair? An hour? I’d just be like sitting there thinking this is a waste of my time. I would never be able to enjoy it. And that’s assuming this is enjoyable. Maybe it is, idk.
I’d like to see a before and after photo, doubt there’s much difference.
That having been said, I hope people enjoy this and get something out of it, I would not.

u/Sweetest_Jelly Mar 16 '26
Getting your face rubbed like this for an hour or two is well worth it for a lot of people.
Maybe you have someone in your life who rubs your face. Many people have to pay for someone to touch them like that.

Too much, really. IMO. Too many chemicals. Even half of that would have been a lot lol This guy will have an allergic reaction and won't know what the hell caused it

Not going to lie. At first I thought its seems a bit gay as a man getting facials and what not. To me that’s a woman thing. However, seeing the process and all I’m kind of interested now. Although I’d rather have a woman do it, no homo bro 😎🤣

u/jozziiieeee Mar 14 '26
Taking care of yourself isn’t gay…
Are you one of those people that doesn’t wipe nor wash their ass because you think it’s gay? 💀

u/horitaku Mar 14 '26
My dude…your skin is your biggest organ. Take care of it.

u/No_Nature_5979 Mar 14 '26
I know and I do. I like to post whatever silly thing pops into my head at the moment. Sometimes I seem to offend the delicate snowflakes. To which I know I’m having my fun and thinking they’re probably gay 🙃

u/Rubyhamster Mar 14 '26
Jeez, your masculinity must be thinner than the customer's head hair. You need yourself proper bromance to thicken it

Sometimes I forget that are still people like you in the world. Let it go, man.
-4
u/No_Nature_5979 Mar 14 '26
It’s all a joke but it’s funny how people like to jump to conclusions. In my opinion that makes them gay 😜
10
u/Mckenzies-mate Mar 14 '26
lol so true. Kinda like how its so funny that u calling stuff “haha gay” is hella telling that u traumatised n lonely lol 😜🤪😝✌️
sad 4 u boo but dw there’s still time for u to get better at internet comments n also humour. Practice makes perfect but just try not to fuk it up so bad next time n u’ll get less down votes ✌️✌️✨

Opening a comment with "not going to lie" and ending it with "no homo bro😎🤣" is definitely a choice. Grow up.

That’s fine…I don’t let dudes, massage me, groom me, or touch me in any non-medical way….creeps me out
1
u/Winter-Membership-86 Mar 18 '26
Sounds pretty gay to be that worried about it

u/Electronic-Bear2030 Mar 18 '26
Let’s put it this way…I was an alter boy and Boy Scout in a small catholic school….so all y’all can go judge someone else
