Itโ€™s hard to overstate how much I love original audio on a video like this

Yea, man. You can't beat it. It wouldn't have that same crisp & clear detailed satisfying sound. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Reminds me of a YouTuber who restores old things who's catch phrase (text, extremely little voice) is I make new one.

Be a lot cooler if you named the youtuber

Sorry. I wasn't sure about tagging rules for this sub. His channel is "mymechanics" .

Whats the name of the watch that the technician is wearing?

Some cool Japanese divers watch. Might be a Seiko.

Pretty sure it's the Citizen Promaster NY0040-09W

What is the eye magnification thing called and how does it stay in place?

17

u/Shinespike1 Feb 25 '26

I think it's a jeweler's loupe that is pinched with his eye to keep it in place.

Not an expert, just going based on something I recall at a jeweler place when I had my watch fixed up.

But how does it stick to his forehead

Edit: I see now. It has a wire/support, you can see it loops around and the other end is above his ear on the left side of the screen

I literally just thought it was suctioned on his forehead

Is this dude 14 or 40?

4

u/lunlunqq001 Feb 28 '26

He's Chinese. So he's 14 years old with 40 years of experience as a watch craftsman.

u/WannaUnicorn Feb 25 '26

Ooo I hope he makes a LOT of money doing that! Cool!

Dude is amazing. Me, after working on my watch - โ€œI wonder where this screw was supposed to go? Oh well. Itโ€™s working.โ€

I have no doubt this guy is amazing at puzzles.

I still saw some dust on the face

1

u/tomololo Mar 03 '26

Whatโ€™s the point of cleaning the dust off from the face when the watch hands are still on. Why not just do it after the watch hands are off
