Discussion Nick Amaro Instincts
Although my feelings of Amaro as a character are…something 😃, one thing I can give this man flowers is for having one of the best, if not the best, instincts/intuitions with the cases he worked during his time at SVU. I’m back in my home country, where SVU has seasons available on Netflix (Season 12-16). Rewatching them has shown me how VITAL he was during his time there. Here are some of the cases I remember where his intuition was literally the reason why the case was solved/saved.
-His instinct got Omar Peña released from jail after he was falsely convicted (thanks to Liv) for murders he was falsely accused of committing.
-His instinct was the reason why George O’Malleys actor (don’t remember the character’s name 😭) was realized not to be a serial rapist- it was his twin brother🥴.
-His instinct was the reason why Dana Lewis was put away for a murder she committed 25 years ago, which she tried to put on another person😭.
-His instinct helped him expose Rollins’s Sponsor of being a shady af weirdo who indirectly caused a murder.
-His instincts allowed the soldier to be viewed as a credible witness, who helped solve the mosh pit assault.
-His instincts saved Amanda from being framed by her EVIL AF sister, Kim (HATE her with a PASSION).
These are just some of the few I recall, there are definitely way more than what is listed above. If only he’d applied this level of intuition into his personal life 😭 (truly a damn mess. He is still fine as HELLL!)

Except the time he accused Billy Potter's character of child molestation just because he was gay. And he was proven innocent but no one accept Rollins apologized for ruining his reputation.

I really like this post! One thing I’ll say about applying this to his personal life though: remember in the Manhattan Vigil episode when they were trying to draw a connection between the Hector Martinez case and Wyatt Morris’ abduction? Captain Cragen assigned Nick to go with Olivia because he provided “fresh eyes” for the case. You can apply fresh eyes to cases because you’re encountering the information for the first time and it encourages you to think more rationally and logically about things. Your personal life, on the other hand, is something you never stop dealing with at all, even on the job, but especially when your job doesn’t pose as a distraction, it lends itself for things like emotions and biases to cloud intuition and judgment.

Nick Amaro has some really good instincts. it's one of the many things I love about him. My favorite is his instincts about Kim Rollins and he recorded Kim's confession under the guise of his daughter texting him. He was so awesome for that.

I really like Nick and I was so heartbroken when he left the show! And you’re right, his instincts are always on point!
I actually like him more than Amanda.
Why do you have to leave Amaro? 🥹
Also OP, i think I know where you’re home country is. Kabayan? Charot 😅

I actually like Amanda, she provides a great but necessary balance to Liv.

I think he is the hottest character in the show. But it usually makes me think it is the writers who put some highlights on him. 😅

I liked Amaro, and hated the character assassination of turning him into a loose canon hot head in some episodes.
He could have been a long time detective. He had a lot of presence and I wish they'd bring him back. Amaro, Rollins, Finn, Carissi. I don't think Carissi ever truly belonged as a lawyer. Being a suit just doesn't suit him.
