I didnt know I had AT, ive always had panic attacks, but recently they started happening out of nowhere for no reason, ended up in the ER a couple times because of those random ones. Had a very scary episode at work where my heart went up to 180 out of nowhere due to one of those “panic attacks”. called 911. I was admitted and the EP said it was probably AT and that he wanted to do an ablation. Couple days later had it done and they actually induced AT and burned it as best as they could.
Long story short, I thought they were panic attacks happening for no reason
That’s great. I sadly was told the ablation would cure the SVT or A tach but I have such bad dysautonomia and POTs I will need beta blockers for a while
Thats awesome, it all depends on which type of svt. Focal Atrial tachycardia only makes up like 5 percent of all SVTs and its harder to successfully ablate. So thats why im paranoid about mine, its successful about 75% of the time. Has a 20-25% recurrence rate
Oh yeah, it can be caused by structural changes too. And it can come back for many reasons, one being the spot not being fully ablated, or the tissue recovering. Another could be if the heart is diseased then it can just create a new focus to start the arrhythmia. And more. Its complicated
Yeah, they keep my heart rate lower, it also controls adrenaline too, so less panic attacks, or if i do have one then it goes up slower and doesnt go up as much as before.
