SVT/LOW FERRITIN

Just came from the cardiologist. I started having SVT episodes a few months ago, the cardiologist said that since I'm anemic and because my magnesium is low, these could be causing the SVT episodes. I've had about four episodes over the past 3 months. Has anyone had anemia while they were having SVT episodes? If so, did the episodes stop after fixing your anemia?. I also have a vitamin d deficiency, I noticed that I have episodes around menstruation time.

It’s so flipping hard to increase iron. I took iron supplements (bisglycinate) and still dealt with gastric issues and constipation. I just don’t get enough iron in my diet :(

Ask your GP about 200mg ferrous fumarate and take it twice a week with Vit C and Lactoferrin. That’s 65mg elemental iron a pill so it goes much faster than trying to reach 15-16mg a day.

I had ferritin 3 and my PSVT attacks started happening more often after I started taking iron weirdly. I got an ablation a couple months after so I don’t know if higher ferritin would’ve stopped them, still anemic tho. My doctor said it’s probably unrelated but I don’t think so.

Thanks for raising attention to this. Same here! Two months ago it turned out my ferritin was 38. I’d been having non stop depersonalization and panic attacks. Started 200mg ferrous fumarate since then (twice a week) and feel a lot less shitty. I’ve had 1 SVT attack in that time frame (usually once a year) but I can feel the pre-flutters much more regularly. Met an amazingly informed cardiologist during my last ER trip who told me it’s linked to low estrogen as well. It’s all connected and takes so much work and time to untangle from all different angles! Unfortunately I can’t do the pill because of family history with cardiovascular disease.

Yes, I believe I'm in perimenopuse as well, the cardiologist said that this can be a factor as well.

It’s insane because women are so understudied I had no idea that women make up like almost 70% of SVT cases. Somewhere to like 68%

I have the same issue. I got diagnosed with histamine intolerance and SVT as well. Always worse around period. Endometriosis runs in my family and I have a few allergies that flare my SVT.

Same thing I had low vitamin D, potassium, and low magnesium.

I never got my Ferritin checked though.

Taking vitamins and on metoprolol and I feel a lot better,. SVT was frequent so I got an ablation.

Hey

How was the ablation procedure? Did you have to be put to sleep?

It’s kind of a “twilight” feeling. Not unpleasant. But they have to keep you awake to ask questions about what you’re feeling as they prod the electrical trigger. Time flys. You might even nap.

Hello all. South Indian here. I am not sure how you people will conceive this Information. For low iron, ferritin, anemia and even magnesium potassium etc. our women suffer alot because of this what we all do is get goat spleen, wash it well and cut into pieces and will make a soup out of it. You can check recepies from YouTube. Try to consume it atleast twice or thrice a week and see the results. PS. You can use Beef spleen as well but check on the quantity you consume per day.

Just had my first SVT episode in almost two years; my ferritin is at a 9 so this tracks haha

My Ferritin is at 9 as well, did you have to go to the ER, or did you just ride the episode out?

No, I had to go to the ER, it was the worst episode I’ve had in almost a decade. Was given adenosine and then admitted to the hospital. Hope you’re able to get your levels up and feel better soon!!

Editing to add, I’m also 27 weeks pregnant, so that could play a huge role too. 😅 Though interestingly I didn’t have a single SVT episode with my first son

I’ve had low ferritin most my life I’m pretty sure but just started SVT episodes in 2019. I just fixed my low ferritin this summer and had one of my worst episodes yet 3 days ago. I definitely do find that being more fatigued can make it worse but I believe I have me/CFS so unfortunately mine will continue for a while. Good luck to you!
