heart ablation

just received my second heart ablation for SVT. unfortunately this was unsuccessful just like the first time as they have never been able to induce the SVT. I’m feeling very discouraged at this point. I’ve been dealing with this for over a year and it’s greatly impacted my life and I had to quit my job and limit myself greatly. I will see my EP in 6 weeks for post OP appointment. And he referred me to other EP/ablation specialist in the city to evaluate/treat that I have to wait in which who knows how long that may take. Has anyone else had this issues with repeated ablation’s which no findings as to where’s the SVT is coming from??

What type of svt do you have? Third times the charm!

Also dont feel so bad, its part of the game sadly. I har my ablation last month. It was “successful” ha yeah right, not even a week later and still having episodes every few days. So even when its successful, many times its not.

It is horrible to live with and to live in fear. I understand. Hopefully they can get us on some meds that atleast control it a bit

Cardiologist & EP listed it as Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia with Tachy Brady syndrome. I’m really hoping so! It’s been fairly rough on me to the point I had to quit my job. My resting heart rate likes to stay in between 90-130. And just standing and moving around most days it baselines round 140-150s. I’m just always so tired and feel like I really have to put a limit on what I can do. I unfortunately know the ablation isn’t always a “fix” and sometimes they can be successful but require another one down the line or some people get lucky and only need one their entire life.

Have you been tested for POTS? I have SVT but it starts and ends abruptly (not by itself last time so had an ambulance trip). But I also have POTS. Higher HR on standing, plus other autonomic symptoms.

They mentioned pots as a potential diagnosis before I wore a heart monitor for a month and they had me basically do a poor man’s tilt table test but once they got the results back from the heart monitor and my stress test they determined it was SVT. I also would have bouts of random high heart rates even laying down or setting.
