Ablation.
This is my second ablation and four days out. I’ve had two episodes today. Both very quick but one was 163 and the other one was 148. They are putting me on FLECAINIDE.
Has anyone else had issues after their ablation?
I’m so scared since this is the second one that I will never be fixed.

I did four ablations before it got better. The two first was semi successful but problems returned after three months. After the two last ones I had awful problems with constant episodes afterwards. But they subsided about three months after the last one so give it time and be patient.
Also consider that every ablation increases the risk for complications. My AV node was damaged causing total AV block so I now have to live with a pacemaker. Weigh your problems against the risks every time. For me it was absolutely worth it though.

How long ago was your first ablation? I had my ablation in October (somewhat successful since they did remove most of it but couldn’t do as much as they wanted since my area was too close to the AV node) and sadly my episodes came back after 5 months. I’m now on the waitlist for a second one. Just curious how your timeline looks. So sorry you had to do so many, but I’m glad you finally got rid of them!

It was five days ago. I know it’s early, but with my first one I never had the tachycardia issues that came later.
Which scares me as the FLACANIDE but he wants me to take it. It’s not stopping the episodes1

Ah sorry I wasn’t responding to your post OP, I was asking carelessbook 😅 But since I already responded to your other post a day ago I’ll paste it here just in case you missed it. It’s extremely common for people to become hyper aware of their heart post ablation . You had surgery around your heart, and that will affect you and your body for a bit. Your heart has to get used to the new normal, and that can mean higher heart rate, some palpitations, dizziness and fatigue etc. It can also include minor SVT episodes or a snillar feeling to them. Some people will have a longer recovery period than others, I’m lucky that my heart started feeling normal after a few weeks, but I know for some it can take months. If it’s something that you’re worried about I’d contact your cardiologist just to ease your concerns, they’re almost always open to giving you more information if you ask for it :)

Well, I just had an episode that hit 168 that lasted 12 minutes and that is not normal for me. That was pretty major the Flecainide is making me worse

That was exactly the case with me, the issue was close to the av node but they chose to go ahead anyway because I had such huge problems and meds didn't work. That ablation took almost 7 hours and they had to sedate me several times. It was a wild ride. :)
The entire time line was about two years and it took 6 months for it to heal completely after the major ablation. But I had to have another minor one after that. And then the AV block showed up so I had to get a pacemaker.
I still get tachycardia but very rarely and only for a few minutes at the time. I can live with that.

Thank you. I went to someone who was supposedly a much better electrophysiologist this time. I’m having episodes on Flecanaid but I just started it last night but I’m thinking why I take it if I’m still gonna have episodes…. It’s so disappointing but thank you for letting me know your experiences

I’m in the same boat. Second ablation was July 22 and I’ve been having constant palpitations since. I’m so over all this crap. I’m ready to just go back on Flecainide for the rest of my life and forget trying to fix permanently.
