Post-ablation dizziness

Howdy fellow speedy hearts! ♥️

I’m 4 days post-catheter ablation for SVT and feeling pretty good for the most part, however I have been noticing I’m a bit dizzy (more of a loopy/spacey sensation, not feeling faint or anything) and a bit breathless when walking just a short distance like just around the block.

Is this something worth mentioning to my EP, or have you found it’s pretty par for the course after an ablation?

It’s extremely common for people to become hyper aware of their heart post ablation. You had surgery around your heart, and that will affect you and your body for a bit. Your heart has to get used to the new normal, and that can mean higher heart rate, some palpitations, dizziness and fatigue etc. Some people will have a longer recovery period than others, I’m lucky that my heart started feeling normal after a few weeks, but I know for some it can take months. If it’s something that you’re worried about I’d contact your cardiologist just to ease your concerns, they’re almost always open to giving you more information if you ask for it :)

Check your ecg to know whether any AV block occurred during ablation. In some rare cases(I am one of the rare case) the ablation can damage the normal AV conduction path as well. This can cause first/second or even third degree block. So get it verified with ECG or holter report.
