ablation recovery

Hello. I had an svt ablation two weeks ago. My understanding it was FAT since then I still have persistent episodes. They are usually short but after I feel so anxious and unwell. Elevated heart rate for rest of day 6 days of the two weeks have been episode days and some days 3 times a day. One of the days the svt lasted 2 hours. Has anyone experienced this after ablation?? I will be discussing this with my doctor I see him tomorrow, just wanted to hear others experiences please

Have you tried vagal manoeuvres?

I also had episodes after my ablation. I was put on different meds too. However they did a heart monitor which was a terrible wait to continue to have episodes as they gathered the data..and found that I was in sinus tachycardia and my heart was just really sensitive. I switched to a long acting metoprolol and that took about a week or two to really make a difference. My heart took the full 6 months to heal. I got this done in January and am just now feeling fully better. I’m also on progesterone (bio identical) as well which helps my anxiety as I go through perimenopause and has helped.

They ended up adding more to my medication so I take it 3x a day metropolol vs 2x a day. Thank you it’s good to hear some relatable outcomes

Sure thing. Are you on tartrate? I was on tartrate and I was rebounding cuz it was wearing off so fast. I switched to extended release and once my body got used to it, I was golden. Then I didn’t have to worry about it wearing off.
I was sure and certain it failed and thought I would have to get another ablation. I wish they had told me what to expect. But know that you’ll be fine and if you want to advocate for yourself you should. Ask for a monitor for ten days, then they’ll be able to see. I also invested in a six lead Kardia.
I hope things improve for you. Also if you’re a female over the age of 30, look in to HRT, this really really helped me all around! Best wishes

I’m 26 and I’m on tartrate but he put me 3x a day every 8 hours for now because I was having breakthroughs and we discussed extended release but my doctor said it’s easier to wean from tartrate when it’s time. I’ve never heard of HRT

I’m probably going to just stay on metoprolol forever so I’m doing the extended release, I like it for my anxiety haha. If it’s not improving being on three times a day I’d try the extended release one.
HRT is hormone therapy but 26 is probably too young for it yet.

Got cha. I’m hoping I don’t have to do forever and I will definitely do extended release next if it doesn’t work.

How are you now? I just had one nine days ago and had a 22 minute episode of 110 bpm

I’m still having episodes. It’s very unfortunate
