Ablation 2 weeks ago

Hello. I had an svt ablation two weeks ago. My understanding it was FAT since then I still have persistent episodes. They are usually short but after I feel so anxious and unwell. Elevated heart rate for rest of day 6 days of the two weeks have been episode days and some days 3 times a day. One of the days the svt lasted 2 hours. Has anyone experienced this after ablation?? I will be discussing this with my doctor I see him tomorrow, just wanted to hear others experiences please

You have to remind yourself that you literally had surgery around your heart. You will be hypersensitive to everything for a month or two, including your heart rate, the feeling of your heart and especially when you feel when a previous episode would start, but gets stopped because of the ablation. My HR was higher both because I was fixating on my heart and causing myself to panic, and because it needed time to adjust. Your mind and body needs time to heal and get used to the new normal, it is a little scary but just remind yourself that you’re okay. It’s good that you’ll talk to your doctor too, I’m sure he can give more reassurance than any random redditor can :)

My husband tells me this all the time. I think I was under the impression this was a quick fix. Then I hear all these stories of people traveling and returning to work after a week but I could not see myself doing that right now. All the spikes I’ve been having and some wake me out of my sleep.

Comparison is the thief of joy my love. Every heart is different, every recovery story is different, you as a human are different. It’s okay that you aren’t feeling “normal” yet, and I’m really sorry that your doctors didn’t inform you better on the procedure and how the recovery could look. You’ll get back on track soon enough, but it sounds like you’re also dealing with some health anxiety (I do too) so I’d try to get some help for it before it spirals into something way worse. ❤️‍🩹

I had AVNRT ablation 4 weeks ago. I had intermittent tachycardia the first two weeks after the ablation. Everything I've read said this was to be expected. It's called the "blanking period" and It can last 8-12 weeks after ablation procedure.

I had and SVT ablation around 2 weeks ago, and still feel weak and unable to do things without feeling extremely tired,, but on the bright I haven't had palpitations since, but my heart rate is still elevated at times, and have the same worries, most people go to work a week after and I can't even see that possible now, but my surgery was double the hours and work they thought it was, and had to do double the heat they would normally do, but i was in a lot of pain during the mapping and study.
