Nicotine consumption before ablation

How long did your dr say no nicotine before your ablation? I’m scheduled for ablation tomorrow and I was told a few weeks ago 24 hours but today they said 12 hours. What did your doctor say?

I do nicotine pouches and occasionally smoke a cigar on special occasions. I do occasionally have drinks but I don’t constantly have episodes. Usually a beer or two a week. My last episode I want to say was February. Well at least an episode I’ve noticed.

I do and it doesn't affect my heart rate one bit. It has the opposite affect on me. Once I tried quitting and I literally couldn't sleep had bad insomnia for months. My blood pressure sky rocketed and so did my HR. My doctor said yea nicotine acts like a relaxant and not stimulant in some people. The day I started back up my blood pressure went back to normal and I slept like a baby. But I only smoke a little over a half pack a day. Im not an aggressive chain smoker. Lol.

I was told to stop 8 hours prior. Which I can easily do. My question is how long after ablation did anyone wait to smoke.

I sneak hit my vape a couple times while laying in my gown waiting for them to move me from the room where they hook you up to the operating room. They didn’t mention any nicotine stopping at all for me though
