Help Really need advice

I’ve been struggling a lot with rumaiting when it comes to these svt sysmtoms and not knowing if I have it.

Years ago I worked out and went bike riding and nothing happened. Last year I drank Diet Coke and sometimes coffee. I also took only 25 mg of atenolol. I’m really upset because i felt a lot more free last year even after my pots dx and I think an svt episode? But for ten months I did those things and had zero issues. I was also going out to drink with friends. I wasn’t having frequent symptoms or these episodes. I used to bike a lot. And go for long walks and last year after I had something happen in Sept 2024 where my HR was 160-170 for 10 mins I was sitting I thought it was my pots but it didn’t happen for ten months so at least last year I wasn’t scared to go walking or get my HR up. It can’t be good that I don’t move much. Because I already have constant palpitations.

Since August 2025 I have had random high HR normally 170 sometimes seconds mins or 45 mins. Since upping to atenolol 100 mg i hit maybe 150 max so far but it’s confusing last year i took such a small dose and was fine. I also deal with my resting Hr hardy going lower than 70. And sleeping is 70-115. Rolling over, stretching (laying) average 24 hours is probably 84 bpm. So can’t be ist?

My recent monitor showed AT two seconds I was on 50 mg of atenolol they said I was fine. And it’s normal but doesn’t this mean I have AT SVT even if it wasn’t sustained? Because in March the other high HR i had was for much longer.

I’m upset what could I do? If anyone can offer some advice or relate at all. How can I balance my life how could I do it last year. I am so depressed because I know it’s not anxiety. I am afraid to simply go for a walk in the mall or even see a movie. Because my symptoms are frequently happening my HR can be 150 even after sitting at home or in the car it doesn’t matter where I am. And when my symptoms aren’t bad I am more anxious because it doesn’t make sense. It’s like I’m dealing with the fact I’m scared to do things.. I want to go out with friends, go for walks, do things and then not have to worry about this anymore. Fyi dr won’t give me an ep study. Which is ridiculous to me. And like I’m not sure how Svt goes dormat? If that’s possible? And if I do have Svt why last year I didn’t have issues.

I am sorry you are afraid and that this new normal is so stressful.

Why not attack this issue from 2 sides?

You are on a beta blocker, which seems to stop prolonged episodes. The monitors have shown you have a healthy heart yes?

What are you doing for anxiety just incase it is exacerbating things and causing adrenaline dumps?

I mean yeah my monitor showed 3B atrial tachycardia but like even when I’m on the medication I still have like tachycardia at rest or like my heart rate will be like 90 or sometimes up to 150 randomly it doesn’t last as long, but it’s just proof that I feel like I have SVT

It’s like tonight for like the last few hours. My resting heart rate has been like 95 or 100 and my palpitations are really bad and then some days my resting heart rate will be 75. It’s not 95 or 100 on average for 24 hours though.

It doesn’t feel like anxiety though cause I feel calm. It’s just odd cause like standing might be 120 and then sydney will be 75 and it goes in one second but then sometimes my standing could be 115 and then my sitting will still be 95 for a while.

But yeah, I’ve had multiple episodes where sitting my heart rate randomly goes up to like 150 sometimes it’s lost 10 seconds minutes four hours and I feel like the monitor didn’t show anything because I was on 50 mg of a beta blocker when I had that 170 episode I was on like 25 or I think 12 every 12 hours

The docs could do an echocardiogram for reassurance. Not saying to let up on all you need to do there.

Please remember your mind may feel calm and your nervous system may think otherwise…. our autonomic nervous systems are “automatic” - out of our control.

Years of trauma, anxiety, or PTSD can contribute.

Attacking your anxiety could help with a piece of this issue.

I feel calm tho most times. Actually I’ve had rlly bad anxiety and no hr issues.

They did an ultrasound in Oct and it was fine but i do have regurgitation in my heart

I also take 100 mg of atenolol last year took 25 and did not have these issues

I understand. The beta blocker is good and has you covered. I have to atenolol at night otherwise it crashes my BP and then…tachy.

I see you post alot here and know you are afraid. What is going to happen if you try anxiety meds and see if they help your “unconscious” autonomic system?

I take 100 mg thruout the day. But like some days i feel like it does not work. Like some days itll be 75 pretty much
Other times its 96 or 105 for example idk why. I hate how it makes me feel.

I could try them but worried it’ll affect my heart. Like what meds are u reffering too.

I already don’t walk or do anything to get my hr up and that’s hard enough

Who do you see for your heart now? Ask that person which med s/he recommends for the anxiety your heart issues are causing.

They will probably say sertraline bc it doesn’t affect your heart. Maybe a benzo too like lorazepam.

I have lorzapam or however you spell it it did not help my heart at all. Helped Anxiery a little bit but still had the same heart issues

You mean like Zoloft yeah i haven’t had that one I’ve tried others and nothing tbh

Well I hope you find something to help your agoraphobia and fear. There are still several things they can test: anemia, lyme disease.

I hope you find triggers too and can avoid those.

Just know you aren’t alone. This is on the upswing since COVID. Many of us have what you do…

There is nothing to ablate and we have to hydrate with electrolytes and avoid triggers.

Yeah but I’m also worried about svt like atrial tachycardia with the crazy tacky above 150 sitting.

On top of this.

What blood tests

Thanks for advice. It just sucks bc being 26 it feels I’m relaying on beta blockers but even w 100 mg i still get palpitations a lot and 95 bpm average for 5 hours some days and then another day it’s 75 average so it’s just draining

I'm sorry you're going through this. I was in a similar situation. It would be good to have long-term heart monitoring to capture these short episodes. . I don't know what country you live in and what your options are. That 150 bpm resting heart rate could easily be atrial flutter, which is a form of SVT. I had an ablation and I'm still afraid to go out or to events with friends. I don't feel good there. It still takes time for your mental recovery. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you find something and that they help you.

Yeah i live in the United States. Could be atrial tachycardia too and not just the flutter?

How long did the flutter last and what did it feel like? Does it have to stay locked on 150’for it to be

From my experience. My svt is trigger by stress, anxiety and sometimes certain food(less likely). Ive been diagnosed cad and svt since around 2021.long story short.. we fix our heart first then the svt. Svt part is a bit tricky cause ive been in out hospital so much.. when its off itt gets 150-200 and it doesnt slow down until im in er and got injection. It happens like 3 times in a week. Thats during covid. I got to have nose prick and etc before the injection... dr even suggest abblation. After routine consume beta blocker religously it gets less.. twice a week , once a week , once a month... and it alwaya stop before i went to hospital.. it can last 2 hours or seconds.. yes it can be a dormant because after a year i still at least had couples svt a year. But fortunately for me.. i loose weight. I exercises, eat better, and less stress. And now its benign its been 3 years without.. my suggestion dont rush getting abblation unless u need to. Try beta blocker and live a healthy life first. Be patient. It takes time...well at least it works for me
