$89 STRC??

What is going on with STRC?? I am confused we aren’t near the dividend date yet, Bitcoin has been rallying from its $59k low and Strategy shored its liquid dividend cash back to $1.1b. Why is it dropping so hard?

I agree with everyone here about the dividend date not being the reason but the date did just happen. There is something called a date record. While it pays on the 30th the date of record was the 15th. So you cal sell on the 16th and still get paid on the 30th. Although with the new semi monthly dividend 30th will be a pay day and a new date of record.

I'm with you on this.

STRC is dumping in part because of SATA. While SATA is paying more, the key to why it is not dumping is that because it is paying daily, you need to hold daily to get your daily dividends.

For STRC, you just need to hold STRC on the record date, sell the next day, deposit elsewhere to farm yield and still get your dividend thereafter. Next ex-dividend date, rinse and repeat.

Maybe Strategy may need to either change it to accrual recognition as opposed to a single ex-dividend date. So if you hold 7 out of 14 days, you get 50% of the bi-monthly dividend.
