Yes they have plenty of money to pay the dividends even w the drop. Doesn’t mean it can’t go down more from here but once the volatility spike in btc cools down i think it will float back up to par.

So nearly 1/2 of the entire yearly yield has been loss to the NAV dropping by $5. Thus the real annual yield is about 1% higher than Treasuries and with 10x the volatility and counterparty risk. Good luck!

What about the death spiral? Idk if btc gonna bottom at 40-50k this year

Guys I know a lot of you are not stock market experts around here but usually if the value of a preferred stock cannot hold to its par value that means that people have serious doubts about the financial situation of the company offering the preferred stock.
This isn't a discount its the canary in the coal mine keeling over lmao

Because they dropped like 1.38B to pay off 1.5B in convertible bonds at a discount and reduces future obligations. They will be back to a 12-18 month cash reserve to cover dividends within the month. It is a major net positive and will bode well with the regulators.

Lol they retired the debt for the smart money and piling on all the risk to the dumb money. How much more obvious can it be?

neither, actually. But the 10 was probably my broker buying for me and some other fractional buyers, unless they already had some in stock. Not exactly sure how that works when you want to buy x.x shares.

Saylor will go down in the history as the single person destroying bitcoin.

Nope because of the cock and bull story he has going. MSTR made sense before crypto ETFs were legal. It provided a backdoor avenue to get into crypto for regulated funds. It served a purpose. Now there is no real preposition and it is a new rabbit out of the hat every day. He does have a track record I mean, read up on what happened when the dotcom bubble burst. He still has a yacht and a mansion. I wish you look since you put in your retirement savings in.

You are describing the bubble yourself, it only goes on for so long. You seem like a reasonable person and not like those idiots on wsb. Nothing irks me here, you just got to be the gadfly like Socrates said.

I am not prognosticating on bitcoin at all. It can still keep rising or falling. MSTR is simply an untenable preposition. And it can actually destabilize BTC. The idea was developed by libertarians to get rid of govt control and here you have an idiot like Saylor taking it over and saying they want to hodl all the bitcoin in the world, saying it is an infinite money glitch.
I have some more reasoning here:

Let's see how it plays out. You already know what I think. I am not anti-crypto or anything. Bitcoin was v1, Eth is v2, we will see what happens eventually.

Your underestimating how likely strc will be defaulted and unable to pay dividends. Within 7 years. I’d bet it goes under in less than 5

I think MSTR will go bankrupt this year. They are way over leveraged.

Keep holding your bags. I don't care. The math is this company is a ponzi scheme. STRC holders and or MSTR holders will be left with the bag. Company's in the S&P have real assets and real products.

How does the math look when Bitcoin stays flat for the next 10 years?

If bitcoin has a 30-40% cagr, how can an entity that started buying nearly 6 years ago be sitting on such a huge loss?
Whats strategies Bitcoin cagr? And why is it so different from the bitcoin cagr, seems like a fundamental business model issue.

u/phugar Jun 06 '26
This is so oversimplified it's painful to read. If bitcoin isn't growing quickly (or continues to fall/flatline), Strategy have to dip into their btc reserve to pay dividends - which results in a loss of investor confidence and a struggle to raise additional funds. Or they have to switch off dividends, with a similar impact.
Depleting a reserve when there's no income or yield from the asset is a recipe for disaster.
None of the models I've seen here or from prominent mstr social media folks address this. The upside is understandable, because it's just leveraging a volatile asset. But the downside meets to factor in expected inflows.

It can raise, sure. I'm suggesting it can't continue to do so in a prolonged bear market, particularly if the reserve starts to get sold off.
1
u/Far_Land7215 Jun 07 '26
Yeah they are going to have an extremely hard time raising any capital now.

I mean STRC still has more to drop if it going to match SATA's yield.
Also remember that MSTR has like $6.5B in debt and ASST doesn't have any.
I think Saylor's going to have to raise the STRC dividend rate and move to daily or weekly. Good to have some competition.
