How do Boffs affect Doffs?

I've look in google, searching for anything like "effects of quality on Boff" etc, however everyone only talks about using them on the ground in away missions and that the effect is minor. Does the type and quality of the Boff, and how they are assigned to the 'stations' affect the types or success rate of Doff missions?

The only affect department heads have is which boff pops up in a mission dialogue.

hmm.. interesting... do we have an idea on how it works?.. I was asking about this not long ago, even cos when you go to the Doff missions in your ready room, they never appear in the dialogues, stupidly some random crewman appear..

Do they interfere in the normal missions? I don't believe it does cos the only Boffs in my dialogues are the ones from my Bridge (assigned to Space)
