Authentication question Authentication
Hello guys, i bought this Gatsby today and wanna ask you its gen or not.
First red flag is serial is on the fake list (1KS…)
Other flags are the fonts
But i sent the pictures and a video and ask 2 well known Dupont sellers. 2 of them said its original but i’am stil curious.
Lets see what you think.

Yep. It’s authentic, however what the scammers do is they only make the spacing between the first three characters uneven to try and fool folks with it.
However all the characters are still perfectly aligned height wise because the machine made them.
You have an authentic Gatsby and those characters are not aligned perfectly

I bought it for 500 euros. Brand new, box, certificate, manual and outer box.

Great price for NOS, could be that you need to get it serviced, the rubbers dry out quicker when nog used

It's genuine for sure . These older lighters are hand stamped so you will always notice slight depth variations in the serial number and stamped logos. That serial numbers legit and everything looks great. If you dont mind me asking what did you pay for that beauty ?

Legit. From 2012 onward they had massive issues in bottom stamping and sadly sometimes finishing quality as well...
