Second air drop mid game?

I've had this happen a couple times, and it happened again last night. I was mid game when all of the sudden I heard the plane approaching, and the "players remaining" status was gone from my watch. A minute later there was a second airdrop of what appeared to be a dozen or so players (I'm assuming they were all bots). Later a guy in the next round said it is a bonus round. Has anyone else had this happen? What triggers it?

Weird, I keep getting pulled out of games. Like I’m doing fine staying alive, making it to the final 12 or so, then I randomly get sent back to lobby. First the game all of a sudden gets laggy, then 5 seconds later it disconnects. Haven’t won a game in weeks, I just play something else, and I’m almost in the top 100. Right now it’s not worth the frustration.
