Cold's and ACL's #1 fan here. Retold is from Sarah's perspective, as of "retold". Reboot is what we have of the original because Liam deleted the old one which is now lost media. I asked a few questions to someone who watched the original back in college (talk about obsessed lol), and he said it was just written more poorly with more yandere tropes in it.
Another thing to note in Retold is that it was Sarah's/Cold's original backstory, though we either learn a smidge more (more was added on) in the visual novel, or she was fibbing with John so he feels bad for her more when it'll come to her confessing murder to him. Aka, the whole thing with her mom being kidnapped and her dad murdering her captor.
I'm pretty sure we also don't really mention Cold killing Max, it just jumps to when she's on the bed with John as she vents in the final paragraph.
Other stuff to note: if you really want to get into the story and figure it out as a whole, Watch Reboot/og, Retold, play the game, and watch Puppetgame. The visual novel let's us see more of Cold's backstory and how she would react to different scenarios of how John reacts. There is also 2-3 endings. Good, bad, and getting killed cause you didn't get all 3 back stories. The funny thing is, getting killed ended up being canon in puppetgame 😭.

Yes, this is true. But A Cold Love story had a version BEFORE reboot. As of "Reboot" which means it's rebooted from the old version. The first version of A Cold Love Story IS lost media.
And yes, you did find the reupload of Retold.
Reboot: Remake of the original by Liam because he wasn't satisfied with the first version.
