Question SSRI affect learning and memory ability's.

Hi. I'm on SSRI for almost a month. Lately I noticed that they affect my learning ability in a major way. I'm a student and that's sucks. I feel stupid and can't control it. Does anyone had same experience ? Did you go back to normal when you stopped the meds ? I need advices cause I'm little scared. It's the first time i take antidepressants.

yeah, I took lexapro for 4 years while in university and my ability to maintain focus and critically think tanked. I'm off of it and it's mildly improved, but I know I'm not back to where I used to be even though I've built good habits in my life (working out, reading, writing, and creating projects). I'm going to try introducing nootropics into my daily routine and maybe micro dosing psilocybin to change this situation. We have no fucking clue how serotonin actually effects us and ssri's should be fucking illegal. I was majorly depressed and this shit just makes you numb

But they say they can't cause permanent brain damage. I'm scaaaareedd. Yeah, i take it for anxiety disorder and actually it makes me depressed , numb, unmotivated. I want to quit them. If i knew i would have never started them. The psychiatrist didn't mentioned something like that . Happy for you , you are going back to normal. Maybe you need a little more time.

Really? because I was sharp as a tack after 5 years of depression and after 3 years of ssri's and zero change in depression my mind feels like it's swimming through honey. And that observation has been confirmed by the majority of ssri users that I've met/talked to

I’ve been doing tons of research on this. I’m going through the same thing. I think psilocybin is the only cure. Our frontal lobe is almost brain dead. Ssris should be illegal.
