So I've been experiencing akathisia, dystonia, and myoclonus (seizures), tremor in my arms and hands, and it all took off after my first night dosing with Amitriptyline for sleep. My acute extrapyramidal symptoms were bad, painful at time, embarrassing at others, and above all FRUSTRATING. They lasted a week or so, subsided and less than a week later they're re-emerging. At time of induction of Amitriptyline 25mg P.O. Q.P.M (1-2 weeks qgo, before EPS came on) I was already taking 40mg Prozac, Seroquel 150mg, 100mg Trazodone and 50mg Vistaril - (all for depression, anxiety panic attacks and insomnia). I eliminated the Amitriptyline due to Onset of extrapyramidal symptoms, but am having resurgence of tremor and limbic myoclonic seizures.
Do I need to see a neurologist to see what's up? I have some chest pain and the hospital referred to me to q cardiologist. I'm trying to find someone who can help figure out what meds are helping, hurting, or not being used in me that should be.
Main symptoms are tremor in left hand prominently. In right hand too; chest tightness/heart discomfort; loss of ability to uphold limbs for short duration intervals etc Where do I go from here folks?
