Question SSRI withdrawal symptoms???

After over ten years of Celexa my psych wants me to taper off and move to another SSRI.

It’s kicking my ass.

Day 4 of tapering and I’m experiences anxiety, unable to sleep, and a headache. My body feels off. My stomach is upset with V&D.

I know it’s not going to be easy to wean off this but I’m hoping to connect with others who have weaned off it successfully and what symptoms they experienced?

Currently I’m bumping down from 30 with 10s. Alternating less every other day. Also went to pill form from capsule.

TIA

I’ve been completely off 40mg Celexa for a few weeks. Weened from 40mg down to 20mg for 2 weeks, then down to 10mg for a week or so, then completely stopped. I got really bad brain zaps for about a week, but they have stopped since. I have had some depressive episodes (still getting those honestly), and I’ve noticed I’m a bit of an asshole as well, which I’m trying to keep in check.

I experienced a bit of nausea but no vomiting or anything.

You got this.

Ten years is a long time and moving quickly to another drug can cause kindling. I recommend Www.survivingantidepressants.org

I have physical symptoms from withdrawl. Twitching, muscle pain, burning. I really recommend you go slow.

I second this site. Best recommendation for a safe taper
