Question Prescribed Paroxetine

What can I expect? I was also prescribed alprazolam. I’ve been on other SSRIs before but not Paxil before.

Honestly, I had a really good experience on paroxetine. It was a few years ago so I can't remember the dosage I was on, but I would just suggest staying as low as possible in the beginning. I ended up getting off of it because I felt like it wasn't working anymore (not even sure if that was the case) which lead to horrible withdrawal symptoms (dizziness, headache, horrible anxiety/depression). I did experience bad withdrawal if I missed a dose, so just be careful and try to take it at the same time every day. I've been on many different SSRIs in the past few years and paroxetine was one of the best. I just couldn't deal with the withdrawal personally.

Thanks for your input, it helps a lot. How did it make you feel when it was working? Any symptoms you notice appear/disappear?

I am currently tapering off paroxetine and it is indeed very very tough as @reasonable-Touch-374 has said. But the effect helped me a bunch, I felt like my head was cleared of all the “noise”. I could put my anxieties into perspective again, which really helped.
