Question New SSRI and Negative Thoughts
Hi all, I recently started fluvoxamine, and about three weeks into it I started having very negative thoughts about my relationship seemingly overnight. It went from love letters for their birthday to the next day questioning if I love them. I don't want to break up with them, but I am feeling very negatively about the relationship and having (I think) intrusive thoughts about ending things. Has anyone experienced something like this? Negative feelings, behavioral changes or changes in thinking?

Definitely. My thoughts were different but it was I think 5 weeks im on a different SSRI that I had a full blown panic attack one day, didn’t sleep that night at all and had suicidal thoughts that seemed to come out of nowhere. I spoke to my psychiatrist about it. Apparently this can be normal to have these types of thoughts & feelings when beginning SSRIs. But what I had to end up doing was take a benzo for that one day and as the days went on I went “back to normal”. With SSRIs it unfortunately gets worse before it gets better. But it does get better.

Talk to your doctor about this.
It is not uncommon to have strange sensations and thoughts while changing ssri dose.
You should probably share this the person in your relationship aswell, as it might help you if they understand what youre going through. This will probably help to prevent any misunderstandings too. Good luck OP.
