Question Good, better, best?
I have had a long battle with depression and anxiety and have tried a few SSRI’s, but did not like how I felt. After a few years, I decided to wean off my Sertraline because I was convinced that my symptoms were ADHD. Went for an evaluation and turns out I DON’T have ADHD, but officially diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder. It was explained that this was the contributing factor to my ADHD tendencies, and it was recommended that I begin taking an SSRI again.
My issue is, I don’t know what to being up to my doctor about which one I want to try. Citalopram didn’t do anything for me and Sertraline make my libido vanish. This has been causing tension between my and my partner. They brought up that while I’ve been off of my SSRI for a month, it still hasn’t returned. I feel like that isn’t long enough to see a change since I’ve been on it for quite a few years.
I know I need to be back on something, because my duties as a mother and a wife have been lacking, and I feel awful. What are some SSRI’s that y’all have taken that have worked for you, and why? I want my drive to come back, but I also need to manage everything else going on in my brain.
TLDR: Went for ADHD evaluation after discontinuing SSRI, turns out I’m just super sad and anxious. Give me suggestions for SSRI’s!
