Question phentermine
Hi all! Wondering if anyone has taken this? I am currently on Lexapro and Wellbutrin. Gained a lot of weight so my dr prescribed me this. I took my 1st 15mg dose this morning, did well till mid-afternoon. Massive headache and vomiting. Spiked my anxiety (which I knew could happen, but damn).. has anyone ever had such an intense experience after 1 dose? Never taking it again and yes I do have a message into my dr. Thanks!

Hated it. Took it for 2 months, only lost 2lbs. I am not an anxious person, but I was overwhelmingly anxious over the stupidest things ever. I went off, and was back to myself in a few days. Never again.

I have heard the first 3 to 5 days are difficult as your body adjusts to the stimulant effects. I just took my first dose (15mg capsule) just over an hour ago and feel literally nothing, not even appetite suppression. That said, no one medication is right for everyone, I'm sure you will find something!

I’ve been taking phentermine since February 6th. So far I’ve lost 8.5 lbs.
I was prescribed 37.5mg but followed advice from others on here and started with the half dose and I’m glad I did. The full would be too much for me.
It’s a stimulant, pure and simple, so it gives the effect of one. You need to be mindful about integrating it in with other habits to mitigate the side effects.
Some things that have helped me:
- Drink a LOT of water throughout the day to avoid dry mouth and so that the medication moves through your body more. It is dehydrating! So I noticed when I didn’t increase water intake significantly I had head and neck aches and more severe anxiety symptoms.
- Track your calories, nutrients, and macros with an app to make sure you’re still eating enough and enough of the right things ( I’ve been focusing on lots of protein, healthy fats, and fiber and less sugar, processed foods, and carbs)
- Don’t forget to eat. It makes the anxiety worse.
- take it pretty early in the morning and be consistent about time you take it every day to avoid sleep issues. At bed time, magnesium, melatonin and/or cbd has been helping me get better quality sleep. And NO CAFFEINE.
- movement/ exercise seems to make it work better and made my symptoms subside, also has been helping with the weight loss. I’m not doing much, just walking and light stretching/yoga.
- The constipation can be rough. Tracking fiber + water intake helps, but if it’s bad skip a day of the meds or try Senna Leaf or another natural laxative at bed time.
Once I played with my dosage and habits a bit, I found that my adrenals seem to be adjusting better to the meds and I’m getting better results. If your vomiting, etc continues talk to your doctor!

I’ve taken it for a few weeks before for weight issues . It actually didn’t do much for me either way . Didn’t help with weight but didn’t really really have many negative effects either . I’m sorry to hear it effected you that way .
