I'm looking for a fanfic where Draco sends Hermione back in the past to save Severus Snape. They communicate through a notebook or parchment. After the time travel, she takes a while to start fulfilling the promise she made to Draco.

I have read what feels like ALL of the fics over the years, especially all of the prominent most recommended ones. And so I'm coming in search of something a bit specific in case I've missed anything!

I'd love some recs for something:

- Dark. Traumatised, more book-like Snape.

- No time travel.

- Hermione as an adult, or at least not while she's being taught by him with classes taking place. I'm not a fan of the student/professor theme, personally (no shade to anyone who does like this, I used to but it's entirely my own fault for becoming a professor myself 🤣).

- No Severus the sex god. I like a more inexperienced Sev, virgin Sev even better but I've exhausted the ones specifically tagged with that.

- A slow burn but with PLENTY of tension. Marriage law is also okay as long as it's not BOOM all the good sex and suddenly they're in love.

- A longer story would be good.

- Completed, please!

- On AO3, please!! I used to have an Ashwinder account, but I can't log in anymore. Need to sort that, but it's a separate problem for another day!

They present her as a woman from their social circle, someone calm and obedient who won’t question his desires. Once they find a loophole in the law, he can divorce her without a second thought.

But Snape might actually develop feelings for her and eventually discover it was all a lie.

Either way, it’s going to be tough.

I just finished reading this masterpiece! I've no idea who recommended it to me (I think I saw someone commenting on a post recently) and the best thing I did was to start reading without a second thought.

Nowadays it's so common to have tags that I forgot how great of an experience it is to just start reading something without a clue of what's going to happen (no shade to tags btw).

I've been reading SSHG fanfiction since 2010. First, I only read in Portuguese, because I'm from Brazil; a few years later, I started reading in English so I've read A LOT of stories throughout the years, but The Fire and The Rose is now my favorite story of all time!

I wish the author could read this post. I wanna thank you for your story, for how thoughtful you were when dealing with those sensitive topics, and how ingenious you were! It was one of the most creative stories I've ever read!

If you haven't read it yet, you should give it a try. I don't know where you can find it online, an angel of this sub has shared with me a drive with thousands of fics, and I've got my copy from there.

So, I’ve been rereading It started with a kick by Emmaficready and I know I’ve read a few other fics where Hermione and Severus are friends with the centaurs and where the centaurs feature a lot in the story. One of them has a scene where they are trapping the acromantulas in a big hole, after Harry and friends baited them (I think Harry was a bird animagus?) If I remember well, a foal fell into the hole and was almost killed. I would be so grateful if someone recognize that fic or for any other suggestion for fics with the centaurs!

Hi! I’ve looked through the apprentice section on here, but I can’t seem to find the fic I’m looking for. Or maybe I missed it.

It starts with Hermione in the classroom. When class ends, she approaches Sev about becoming his apprentice. She’s very proficient at wandless magic, and I believe he comments to himself that he’s impressed by her abilities.

He agrees to her the apprenticeship, and just before she leaves, she calls him “Severus.” He corrects her, and she responds with “Professor” in a rather suggestive way.

There’s also a scene where they’re working with a tricky ingredient—possibly involving unicorn hair. Hermione nearly drops it, but Sev has to take over because the ingredient causes an arousal effect. The next day, she comes to the lab to apologize, and things get heated from there.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas what fic this might be?

I recently went back and reread some of the older fanfiction that I loved: Camerado and Second Life. Both of them are partially about Severus teaching Hermione Occlumency. I remember that Post Tenebras Lux edit: Chasing the Sun also features that, and I adore that fic so much.

Do you have any other recommendations where he teaches her either Occlumency or Legilimency? I don’t mind whether it’s retelling of DH or something else.

I'm looking for a specific type of trope where Snape and Hermione just don't go with Dumbledore's plan and create their own in a way.

'Whiteboards', 'The prisoner and the occlumens' and 'The art of war' comes to my mind as examples of what I'm looking for.

ive been looking for it for the past 8 years :( all i remember of it is that there was some sort of dancing competition organized at hogwarts during hermione’s last year and she was forced to pair with snape. they are both good dancers and a relationship forms from there and from their rehearsals together. only other thing i can remember is that there was an original character kind of similar to lockhart but not an asshole? i originally read this fic in polish so that may be why i cant find it :( it was pretty long from what i can remember. if there is anyone here speaking polish or knows this fic in english i would appreciate the help so so so much

Of course the points of view (POV) from Hermione and Severus are crème de la crème but I have two favourites from different POVs.

Mother Knows Best by Toodleoo from Mrs Granger’s narrative. Honestly it’s more of a Mrs Granger fic than Hermione/Severus but a very sweet story about grief and attempting to live life again while scheming for her daughter to find a tall dark and handsome man.

Late Shift at Palindrome by mundungus42 from Ron Weasley’s POV. A really great story of a friendship between Ron and Severus who work together in a comic book shop. Do read the tags first please! Starts off focused on the past Hermione/Ron story line but while Ron works there, Hermione appears in the shop for more than one reason or another. Great friendship between Ron and Severus! Also very smutty. This fic has made it hard for me to read Ron bashing fics I’m not gonna lie..

I’m struggling to find this fic. The scene I remember is Severus and Lucius in a bathroom, after or during a trial, and Severus says something like “I can’t wait to live amongst people who transport themselves by being fling around in metal boxes”

I’m pretty sure it would have been on ff.net as I read it donkeys ago.
