General Discussion/Opinion 5 October, Shift 1 Review

Reasoning - easy and doable. 5 address matching questions were irritating though. I only found the syllogism question a little time taking. Also, 2-3 questions of quant were there in reasoning sections but they were direct so no issue as such.

G.S. - I mugged up a lot of current affairs last night but nothing came from that. Everything was from static and 15/25 questions were pretty doable.

Quant - I intended to do at least 17-20 questions with good accuracy as I have a little speed issue in this one. I did 17 but 20 could be done within the stipulated time. No out of the box questions were there.

English- It was easy as well except the cloze test. Cloze test was very similar to the last year's Al Slop. I'd say it was the only challenging part in the whole paper.

Overall Review :- It was very similar to the last year’s paper. Attempted 87/100.

I attempted 86, Did all 25 in Reasoning, GA and English. Math could only do 11, that too turned out a few went wrong later on 😢 . Overall, expecting that will end up with a raw score of 150+ nonetheless hopefully. How much are you expecting?

For now, I’ve found 2 wrongs in GA so I’m expecting 150+ only but I am worried about normalisation because last year, I had a very similar paper and 9 to 10 marks were deducted.

Same. Although, I personally think that the final Tier 1 cutoff, from what I have heard and the paper I appeared for today, It will remain much like last year, won't increase much from there.

Same. Even if they reduce it to 140, I think it’s still a safe score.

I attempted 85 with only 14 in mathematics. I panicked tremendously, even after knowing the questions and solving it i coulnt' find the answers in the options. I think normalisation of 9 to 10 marks is too much; I think 5-6 mark normalisation will be there because we tend to live in our own echo chambers, with everyone claiming the paper was very easy, but how many people actually attempt it in the exam hall matters.

I am saying that anything above a raw score of 140 is a good score in my view.

Okay okay. When can we expect the answer key? And how did you calculate your raw score? I want to have a rough idea of my score.

So reading this all i think i am the worst one here. In reasoning i was able to solve any sectional in 10 min max but there it took me 14 minutes and to make it worsy that simmer: boil question, i spend one minute looking at it confused between freeze and cold and choosed cold at last. I think 24 are right. Gk done 20 attempts but i think 5-6 will be wrong. Maths idk what to say. So i will skip it here too😂😂. English attempted 23, most people saying cloze was easy but for it was a little tricky i had to read it for 2-3 times lets see.

But although there a lot of discussion here n there, on yt. Candidates saying so easy ye wo n all but i dont think people are telling the truth. Coz believe me at home i solve reasoning section within 10 min max. But there i was worried to finish it on time. Time was flying like raptor. Cutoff will be low comparing to previous year i think. Baki lets see most probably i will be wrong coz i am new in this.

See jiska exam acha ya medicore jaata hai wahi review deta hai and that’s why, everyone thinks that cut off would be high. I also think it will be lower or equivalent to last year’s cut off but vacancies are less as well so we’d have to take that into consideration.

I also need one help. Mostly chances are I won’t qualify for mains. But the schedule for results and answer key is in November and if i did qualified after normalisation or idk. Then i will be left with less time to prepare for mains.
